patsimp's Journalgun nuts who talk about facts never mention that congress cut funding to research into gun
violence.
real facts would show the benefits of gun control.
to put it another way, imagine there is a raging fire in a wood area. in the center of the fire they try to keep the trees moist but the raging fire overcomes the attempts to moisten the trees. gun nut logic would be that water does nothing to stop fires.
Salman Rushie death sentence
It would be interesting to find out what proportion of the muslim community supports the death sentence against Salman Rushie because of the alleged blasphemy against the religion. I'm sorry, but to me this is intolerant and concerning. I don't know of any other modern religion that has supported such an action, especially at the state level. I have asked some of my muslim friends this question and was shocked to find that more than half either supported or 'understood' the death sentence against an innocent writer.
he may be. but i think he's tapping into frustration that alot people are feeling
- an attack on freedom of speech by islamist radicals
- blowing up people at the boston marathon (by muslim refugees that were allowed to come here for a better life)
- the Islamic hatred of Israel
- the massacre last week by another muslim that was welcomed into the country and even given a baby shower by the people she would kill - and their plans to do so much more damage had the police not stopped them.
- 911
- Paris
- Attacks in England
The only message from our leaders seems to be to love, understand, be tolerant, and wait to be slaughtered by islamist radicals.
there is NOT ONE republican candidate who is able or capable of running this country
a republican president based on the slate that is currently out there, I believe, will be the destruction of this country and much of the world.
- there will probably be a nuclear war
- the climate will be destroyed further
- health care gone
- the top 40 families will own even more wealth
- no middle class
- more black people dying at the hands of killer cops
- criminalization of weed
- more republican cronies on the supreme court
- elimination of voting rights and rules - only the select rich will be allowed to vote
Saudi Arabia Sentences Palestinian Poet To Death For Apostasy
Source: Huffington Post
RIYADH, Nov 20 (Reuters) - A Saudi Arabian court has sentenced a Palestinian poet to death for apostasy, abandoning his Muslim faith, according to trial documents seen by Human Rights Watch, its Middle East researcher Adam Coogle said on Friday.
Ashraf Fayadh was detained by the country's religious police in 2013 in Abha, in southwest Saudi Arabia, and then rearrested and tried in early 2014.
The verdict of that court sentenced him to four years in prison and 800 lashes but after appeal another judge passed a death sentence on Fayadh three days ago, said Coogle.
"I have read the trial documents from the lower court verdict in 2014 and another one from 17 November. It is very clear he has been sentenced to death for apostasy," Coogle said.
Saudi Arabia's justice system is based on Sharia Islamic law and its judges are clerics from the kingdom's ultra conservative Wahhabi school of Sunni Islam. In the Wahhabi interpretation of Sharia, religious crimes including blasphemy and apostasy incur the death penalty.

Some of my saddest moments are thinking about those killed
by Islamist Terrorists in the name of their religion at:
- the Boston Marathon
- Mumbai
- 911
- France (twice this year)
- Spain
If the Islamic terrorists stop killing people, I'm sure people will stop the blame.
btw - I don't see a lot of coordinated condemnation on twitter of the barbaric acts by leaders of the Muslim community. Maybe I'm missing something.
Its not possible. the religion itself calls anyone is not a muslim an apostate
- it doesn't call for respect or tolerance of other faiths or religions
- it calls for forceable conversion. This may be the reason why the youth who begin to study the religion more closely get radicalized by the tens of thousands.
- which other religion calls for the death of anyone who leaves the religion
- questioning anything that is taught by the religion can be considered blasphemy and you guessed it - punishable by death.
Son: Briton, 74, may not survive Saudi's lashings over illicit wine
Source: CNN
CNN)The crime is related to homemade wine. But can 74-year-old Karl Andree survive the punishment -- 360 lashes by Saudi authorities?
His son fears that he won't, conceding that while Andree may have done wrong in the eyes of Saudi officials, it shouldn't warrant what may amount to a death sentence.
"I completely understand that he has committed a crime and, for that, you have to face consequences ... He understands as well," Simon Andree told CNN. "But ... on the basis of his ill health, (I hope) he can get clemency and get released, because I feel he won't survive those lashes."
