So, what has DU been listening to post-election? For me it has been

a shit-ton of Pink Floyd, with healthy doses of Husker Du/Bob Mould sprinkled in.

Now that the election is over, they are forecasting ANOTHER massive state budget shortfall...

The response will undoubtedly be to absolutely savage the UW System and public education (again). And more tax cuts, of course, but those will be timed to coincide with Walker's re-election bid in 2018. Not a problem, though, because we need lots of welders (not English professors) and you can just send your K-12 kids to private voucher schools.

Congratulations, cheeseheads. We have ceased to be Wisconsin and have now become Wiskansas- a deep red state just east of Iowabama and across the lake from Michississippi.

WTF Wisconsin? Ron Johnson surges in latest Marquette poll.

Hillary is now up seven, which seems safe, but Senator Dumbass has moved into a statistical tie with Russ!

Latest Republican efforts to suppress vote, save Ron Johnson and Trump in Wisconsin

They're trying to throw out potentially thousands of absentee ballots, most of which come from Dem areas of our state, on a minor technicality. Scott walker and his bought and paid for Republican legislature continue to do their job...

Thousands of mailed absentee ballots could be thrown out because witnesses for the voters did not provide their full addresses.

With only a fraction of absentee ballots mailed in, the number of ballots at risk of being tossed is now in the hundreds and could easily grow to thousands in the state’s largest city alone, said Neil Albrecht, the executive director of the Milwaukee Election Commission.

Well, cheeseheads, we may in fact be as STUPID as people around the country say we are...

Walker got a five point bump, up to 43% approval in the latest Marquette poll-- basically where he was before he started his winning 2014 re-election campaign. Also, Trump and Ron Johnson now in statistical dead heats with HRC and Feingold respectively.

Puke.

Damned if this isn't just as appropriate as it was in 1989 when the late great Lou Reed released it:

I'm sick of you Trump...

and he's even mentioned all the way back then. Was my senior year of college and it perfectly captured the disgust of so many at the (mostly) Republican political establishment back then.

That's right, GONE. Probably ILLEGAL

Screw these stupid dumbasses and their "protest."

Scott Walker begins to lay groundwork for next presidential run... was there ever any doubt?

After a late start and an early exit in the 2016 campaign, Gov. Scott Walker spent time this week at the Republican National Convention laying vital groundwork should he run for president again.

At this point, Walker — who is scheduled to address the entire convention Wednesday night — said the only potential campaign he’s thinking about is a third run for governor in 2018, but he won’t rule out another national run in 2020, 2024 or even 2036.

“I could wait 20 years and still be younger than Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump,” Walker told reporters Tuesday after speaking at a South Carolina delegation breakfast. “From my standpoint, I’m in no rush. We’ll see what God’s calling is in all of this.”

In other words, he's running for President, and will be until either the 2020 election or until we vote his sorry ass out in two years.

So, our daughter has gone full-on "emo"

In the space of three weeks, she has quit dance (had been doing that for 12 years) quit softball, and taken down all her photos and posters, replacing them with My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy posters. She never ever goes outside, and she listens to emo music (almost exclusively My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, and Panic at the Disco) from the moment she wakes up until she goes to sleep. Wears all black, all the time, even if it's 95 degrees.

Oh, and the best part? She professes to "hate us more than words can say."
