ALBliberal's JournalPolitical discussion with Texan great nephew regarding
His preferred candidate. He will vote for Bernie
in the general. However if Bernie doesnt win the primary he will vote for Trump. Had little knowledge of other Dem candidates but did say he cant stand Warren. I asked him why he didnt like Biden. He said he thinks hes creepy. I said you think hes creepier than Trump? And he said Yes! Claims he likes Trumps China tariffs. I asked about the farmers in the Midwest whose markets were destroyed and we were bailing out. He thinks its worth our tax $ to teach China a lesson. He thinks no real Russia election interference.
Nutshell: patting himself on the back for bravery of supporting Bernie but no knowledge of basic tenets of impeachment inquiry or Trump wrecking ball policies. His dad cant stand Trump as a human but is happy with the stock market. Neither cared about the deficit. Epstein and Clinton were mentioned as a defense of Trump. I asked them to explain the relevance since Clinton is not on the ballot and basically they use Clinton as an excuse it support an immoral Trump.
I really dont think there is a way to influence or change the minds of some Republicans. These nephews are bright and successful and dont talk politics generally. They brought up the political discussion as a topic to me to let me know that
they arent as fanatical as we might think they are and they are open minded politically.
But they arent open minded nor are they willing to change and reason or learn. The whole discussion was unsettling and I decided to end it before I got too worked up.
I can see Adam Schiff being Attorney General
In a Democratic Administration. Just the invaluable work in progress he would bring to the table. A continuance of the stellar work he is doing now.
Damn! Wasn't too familiar with Mulvaney until today
Slick Mick! Sheesh all this dancing and justification around Trumps policies! Just awful entire administration!
So what did the Kurds agree to? Were they even
included in negotiations? From what I can tell they not only lost the protection of our military but they were driven out of their home.
Ridiculous for Trump to say they are happy.
Sickening.
He actually repeated today that he's a very stable
genius completely oblivious or non caring of the mocking hes had for using that term. And still claiming ad nauseum the call to Zelensky was perfect ignoring the mocking hes getting for that as well. Completely not self aware.
Can you imagine Trump squealing on McConnell Et al
If he was convicted in an eventual Senate Impeachment trial? Oh the tales he could tell! GOP has a real hot potato on their hands!
Having grown up in Silver City NM near El Paso
I am just sick and heartbroken of this news of the massacre in El Paso. For the most part we in southwestern NM neighboring El Paso exist happily with our Mexican counterparts. Never any violence or problems that I can remember. This massacre is a complete shock ... a bold statement: I blame Trump and the hateful policies he invokes in regard to Mexico. Bless these families of the murdered and may the wounded be healed.
I believe that trump is charging admission for the best
Seats for his 4th of July self celebration because
1) it discourages access of protestors
2) it discourages access for the worst of his deplorable following (which he secretly abhors)
By discouraging access of both he hopes to show for the cameras a respectable fawning crowd
Beyond disgusting imo. We will be in Colorado visiting family and friends over the holiday. He will not enter our thoughts.
Nancy Pelosi will wait until the polls come in with overwhelming public
support for impeachment proceedings. In this way
She will know there will be push back on congressional Republicans... especially Republican senators.
Her non committal response I believe is designed to create public pushback.
Just tuned back in to the Barr hearing Barr is looking
very sweaty and uncomfortable. Face red. Most uncomfortable. Almost like hes about to throw up.
Just saying.
