,,,AND, we get to the "So, can we lock her up" question

Very cagy to include "lock her up" and then say "AS AN EXAMPLE, A FORMER SECRETARY OF STATE????"

Jesus.

"Somebody hadda have an inkling into SUMPIN!" Trump's new attorney is a real superstar.

Stacey Plaskett is now dismantling him.

Little Lindsey is really outdoing himself today.

From his "GOTCHA" ANTIFA question to this:

John Bresnahan
@bresreports
.
@LindseyGrahamSC
leaves Senate floor & goes into room with Trump’s lawyers. They actually pulled him off floor

He's literally showing there is no bottom.

I think, in the end, Republicans will "do a Trump" on Trump. They want his voters, not him.

I think people like Graham, Cruz, Hawley, etc have gone too far out on the limb to come back.

And an "acquittal" vote will appear prominently on the resumes of every Republican who goes that route.

I don't see a "MAGA comeback" for Trump. Without Twitter, with Biden making leaps and bounds on his handling of COVID, filling positions with actual capable adults, and WORKING...actually showing up BEFORE NOON and sticking around till 9 PM or later...right now, Trump is just a 74 year old private citizen hanging out at the omelet bar at Mar-a-Lago.

YES...he WILL try to reclaim the spotlight at some point. I can't predict how successful he'll be at that. I don't believe he'll go the distance on a 2024 run, if he's not prohibited from doing so. Too much work. If he can get $$$$$$$$ and adoration for the least amount of effort, that's the path he'll take.

I expected more news from SDNY...that may still happen, or it may not. Georgia's not messing around...if you saw Rachel Maddow's show last night, you know this is coming.

Nikki Haley's reversal was not unexpected. She's an opportunist. She knows that an acquittal will be strictly partisan and won't play well to the non-MAGA crowd.

I think you will hear less and less about Trump, that the "Q" loons and MAGA Republicans will still do their thing...but I think you'll see more attempts to "rebrand" and less attempts to get Trump up on Mount Rushmore.

This thing just keeps getting dirtier and dirtier as we approach the inevitable conclusion

15 Republicans sitting out today's hearings.

Graham, Cruz & Lee...who took an oath to be "impartial jurors"...meeting behind closed doors with Trump's attorney.

Trump, apparently "personally notified" Pence was in danger before sending tweet attacking him,

I guess the rules no longer matter for ANYONE, not just Trump. As long as they're Republican, of course.

BWAHAHA! Orange Julius Caesar was "beside himself with anger" over Lawyers-R-Us "defense"

On CNN Tuesday, White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins reported that former President Donald Trump was beside himself with anger at the ineptitude of the attorneys representing him on the first day of the impeachment trial in the Senate.

"Kaitlan, I'm sure Trump was very, very unhappy, especially that first lawyer, Bruce Castor, who did an awful job trying to defend the former president," said anchor Wolf Blitzer.

"I'm being told by two people familiar with former President Trump's reaction, he was deeply unhappy with that performance and borderline screaming, according to these two people, who are aware of how the president responded to Bruce Castor, going forward making that argument," said Collins. "We should point out this is a legal team that was assembled a little over a week ago after those other attorneys, who were initially supposed to be the ones on the Senate floor making this argument, left the team in what was described as a mutual decision at the time. And so they've only had a little over a week to prepare for this."

It's like a cross between "Inherit The Wind" and Scorcese's "Last Temptation of Christ."

Had to turn the speed-talking overly-cafferinated goon who's on right now off.

To quote the late, brilliant John Candy from SCTV, this guy sees himself as a real "t'underin lawyer."

He sort of fast forwarded to the crucifixion scene in "Last Temptation of Christ," with Trump as Christ.

His argument:

The world will laugh at us if we allow this unconstitutional process to continue.

They pulled a "good cop, bad cop" thing. Or tried to. Castor came out and attempted to kiss a lot of across the aisle ass before working his way into "we can't do this."

The twerp who is on right now is basically predicting the end of civilization as we know it if the trial is even held, let alone a trial resulting in a conviction.

Thank you for the hearts

I've been here a little less frequently, because of Trump fatigue. We had to pass four stress-filled hurdles...the election, the Electoral College, the tallying of votes in the Senate, and the Inauguration. Usually it's just the election, and everything else is a formality. Not this time.

But I'm still here and slowly coming back to sanity and peace. Thanks for the hearts, much appreciated.

This one's gonna be tough to watch

Reports that Trump's taking time off from golf to enjoy this on TV as he plots his "comeback."

Republican whack jobs all lined up to have their moment in the sun.

It will be worth it just to see the evidence put out for the American people who don't live under a red hat.
