Yesterday I met with high school students on Chicagos Southwest side who spent the summer learning to code some pretty cool apps. Michelle and I are proud to support programs that invest in local youth and were proud of these young people.

Scott Roos went to college with Pence and confirmed that he rejected his gay friend. Roos said he experienced virulent anti-gay prejudice, including slurs and public shaming, when he and his partner acknowledged their relationship to their fraternity brothers. Formerly friendly, Pence stopped speaking to Roos.
***
Roos also said of Pence: "He said that God told him he would be president." Accordingly, Pence stayed away from the stag-film parties and beer blasts in his frat house, but when confronted directly by an administrator, turned his brothers in for buying a keg of beer, according to a former fraternity brother, Dan Murphy, who now teaches at Hanover. The school came down hard on everyone, but when Pence later sought a job in the admissions office, he got it.
In his own life Pence followed a traditional path. He met his wife, Karen, at church and they were married in 1985. She left her teaching job when she became a mother. The couple has three children.
After Hanover, and his wedding, Pence lost a couple of congressional races, where he campaigned on his opposition to abortion rights and gay rights -- before settling into a career in local talk radio. His first station was a small one owned by an Indiana preacher named Gene Hood, who had brought 200 people to a local ballroom to protest a Miss Gay America contest. Hood was so worked up that he told the local paper: "If they try this another time, I'm telling you, there's going to be bloodshed. We mean business. There are some red-blooded men in Indianapolis, and we won't stand for this."

Anonymous Sources are really starting to BURN the media. @FoxNews The fact is that many anonymous sources dont even exist. They are fiction made up by the Fake News reporters. Look at the lie that Fake CNN is now in. They got caught red handed! Enemy of the People!

Mike Pence just publicly congratulated Martha McSally for winning the #AZSen GOP primary.
None of the ballot counts have been announced in that race.
Pence deleted the tweet, but here it is. NYT live results showed 0% of AZ precincts reporting when he sent it.

Don McGahn's coming White House exit
Don McGahn's coming White House exit
The big picture: That potentially puts a successor in charge of fielding a blizzard of requests or subpoenas for documents and testimony if Democrats win control of the House in the midterms. And if the White House winds up fighting special counsel Robert Mueller, an epic constitutional fight could lie ahead.
We're told that Trump has not formalized a successor.
But McGahn has told a confidant he would like his successor to be Emmet Flood, a Clinton administration alumnus who joined the White House in May to deal with the Russia probe.
Flood also served for two years during George W. Bushs second term as his top lawyer handling congressional investigators.

Sen. Susan Collins, a Republican from Maine, said she doesn't know if Sessions is losing support among her colleagues, but "not among people I have talked to."
"They've got a challenging relationship, the attorney general and the President, that's known to all and they'll have to work it out one way or another. Sessions is an old friend of mine, I worked with him for 20 years. I have a lot of respect for him, but at the same time he works for the President," said Sen. Dick Shelby, a Republican from Alabama where Sessions once served. "I don't know what's going to happen. I think both of them need to put the nation first."

Donald Trump bizarrely claimed to remember the start of World War II in a tense phone call with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the Washington Post reports.
In the tense June call, Trump told Abe that I remember Pearl Harbor, referring to the attack that brought the United States into the Second World war, which concluded before Trump was born in 1946.
Trumps rant was part of a blistering critique of Japans economic policies, sources told the Post and complained that the Japanese dont buy as many American goods as Americans buy Japanese goods.
The meeting, which left Abe exasperated, epitomized the paradoxical nature of Trumps closest relationship with a foreign leader, the Post reports.
