The Putin / Trump "Cyber Security Unit?" Republicans are already trying to wash off the stench.

Republicans blast Trump idea for cyber security unit with Russia

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday he and Russia's president had discussed forming a cyber security unit, an idea harshly criticized by Republicans who said Moscow could not be trusted after its alleged meddling in the 2016 U.S. election.

Tweeting after his first meeting with President Vladimir Putin on Friday, Trump said now was the time to work constructively with Moscow, pointing to a ceasefire deal in southwest Syria that came into effect on Sunday.

"Putin & I discussed forming an impenetrable Cyber Security unit so that election hacking, & many other negative things, will be guarded and safe," he said following their talks at a summit of the Group of 20 nations in Hamburg, Germany.

Republican Senators Lindsey Graham, an influential South Carolina Republican who is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and Marco Rubio of Florida, who opposed Trump for their party's presidential nomination, blasted the idea.

Putin: We didn't meddle, ask Trump.
Reporter: But WH hasn't released any info.

It's like ordering us to accept bin Laden's "vehement denial" that he had nothing to do with 9/11.

Putin did it.

The intelligence community knows he did it.

Putin knows he did it.

Where the HELL do you go from here?

April 2009, Michelle Obama, 73% approval rating. Melania, right now, 51%.

Melania Trump is far more popular than her husband, but she isn't the fairest, ahem, most well-liked, modern first lady of them all. Less than a month after the wife of President Donald Trump finally moved into the White House to join her spouse, the first lady's approval ratings have climbed by 14 points to 51 percent, a Fox News poll published Friday found.

More Americans are also less inclined to dislike Melania Trump than there were before her husband became president, the poll found. About 28 percent of voters don't view her favorably, while 35 percent viewed her unfavorably in December before he was sworn in.

Melania Trump's predecessor, in contrast, was beloved by Americans at this point in her husband's first term. Michelle Obama had a favorability rating of 73 percent in April 2009.

The wife of President George W. Bush, who served two terms before President Barack Obama, was also more popular than Melania Trump. Laura Bush's favorable ratings ranged between 63 percent and 80 percent during the Bush administration.

And if Sasha or Malia sat in for Barack at G20, I'm sure Republicans would have been fine with that.

Ivanka Trump Sat In For Her Dad At A G20 Leaders' Meeting

Having accompanied Ivanka to the meeting, POTUS left before returning to later take his place among world leaders. A source told BuzzFeed News: "Incredible!!!"

Ivanka Trump sat in for her father at the start of Saturday's G20 working sessions with the 19 other world leaders attending the summit in Hamburg, Germany, two sources told BuzzFeed News.

One of the sources said: "Incredible!!!"

President Donald Trump later returned to take his place. "Ivanka didn't take the floor during her brief 'tenure'," one source said.

One of the sources speculated that Ivanka was at the table because there would be a discussion about women’s empowerment later in the day, adding: “But still!!!”

A Russian negotiator tweeted a photo of Ivanka sat next to UK prime minister Theresa May.

I post daily on DU...would you prefer that I start leaving Trump photos out of my posts?

Here's why I ask. A couple of reasons.

First, I'm as sick of looking at him as you are. Maybe more so. And as time goes on, he only gets worse.

For a while, it was a "Ha ha ha. look at the asshole" thing, but he's gone way past the point of being "amusing."

But more than that, it's not uncommon for me to post something I am hoping people will actually read, and the comments will end up being about the photo I posted, and not the article.

I'm OK with it...I'd just like to know how the folks here feel about it.
