A senior reporter for Fox News edited out any mention of “Russian” while reporting on Donald Trump Jr.’s emails.

Chief Intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge reported on “key sections” of the Trump Jr. email changes, while editing out mention of Russia, Media Matters for America documented.

“This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump,” the email read.

“This is obviously very high level and sensitive information … I can also send this info to your father via Rhona but it’s ultra sensitive so wanted to send it to you first,” Herridge reported the email read, completely skipping over mention of Russia while reporting on investigations into Russian collusion.

“I will refer everything on this matter to Donald Trump Jr.’s outside counsel,” Sanders said shortly after reading the president’s statement about his son.

When asked later by a reporter about whether Trump Jr.’s emails showed evidence of collusion with the Russian government, she said simply that, “I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but on all questions related to this matter I would refer you to Don Jr.’s counsel.”

When asked whether Trump was being truthful when he insisted repeatedly that no one in his campaign had contact with Russian government officials, Sanders said, “To repeat myself, I will refer you to the outside counsel, and I do not have anything else to add.”

When asked to define what would constitute collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government, Sanders said, “I said all we are going to say on that, anything else, you have to reach out to outside counsel.”

On Tuesday morning, there was a stunning development in the Trump-Russia scandal: Donald Trump Jr. confessed. In yet another bombshell story, the New York Times reported on emails showing that the president’s oldest son had eagerly accepted an offer of help during the 2016 campaign from what he understood to be the Russian government. Trump Jr., the Times disclosed, had set up a meeting with a Russian attorney in the hopes of receiving derogatory information on Hillary Clinton straight from Putin’s regime. As the Times was publishing this story, Trump Jr. tweeted out those same emails.

The emails reveal that top Trump campaign advisers Paul Manafort and Jared Kushner attended the meeting and suggests that all three Trump advisers colluded in what seemed to be a Russian government-backed attempt to hurt Clinton in order to help Trump win the presidency. This new development contradicts the long series of denials from Trump defenders who have claimed that there was no collusion, that there was no evidence Russian leader Vladimir Putin wanted Trump to win, and that the Trump-Russia affair is merely a hoax perpetuated by loser Democrats and fake news outlets.

The Trump Jr. emails also provide partial support for some information within the Steele dossier.

In a bizarre interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Tuesday, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) admitted that Senate Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) might be forced to “take a knee” when it comes to Trumpcare.

Frequent guest Mike Barnicle asked the question of the Louisiana senator only to have the Republican contradict himself within the same sentence.

“Mitch is not the kind of guy to take a knee,” Cassidy said. “Now, granted, it might occur, but I would like to think, Mike, that there would still be that path forward, if not this bill than in others. And I don’t think any of us are ready to take a knee.”

Cassidy claimed over the weekend that the Trumpcare bill was “dead” and that a blanket repeal without replacement was a “nonstarter.”

Fox and Friends co-host Steve Doocy admitted Tuesday that the report they did on former FBI Director James Comey revealing classified information in his memos was “mistaken.”

After the story aired on the Monday morning show, President Donald Trump then tweeted, “James Comey leaked CLASSIFIED INFORMATION to the media. That is so illegal!” However, as of Tuesday at 8:00 a.m., Trump’s tweet still existed on his page and he has not corrected the tweet.

Doocy appeared before the morning headlines to issue the network’s correction.

“Yesterday on this program we aired and tweeted this story saying former FBI director James Comey leaked memos containing top secret information,” he said. “We were mistaken in that. According to the report, half of the memos contain information classified at the secret or confidential, not top-secret. Markings of the documents in which Mr. Comey leaked are, at this point, unclear. Just wanted to straighten that out.”

The network did not apologize to Comey for alleging he did anything illegal or unethical nor did Doocy’s fellow Fox and Friends hosts comment the network’s flub.
