Battle of Mogadishu
I got out of the Army in 93.
I later became friends with several of the Task Force Ranger and the 5th Special Forces detachment that was ordered to Hold in place while TF Ranger had to stand on its own .
I also met several of the 10th Mountain guys and one guy from an engineer unit that was there to help.
They said its the most evil place they ever served. Those were soldiers who saw the sectarian violence in Iraq. They said it was completely understandable while everyone pulled out. The whole system couldnt be changed.
I hope we do a better job of preparing our military for what they see.

House lawmakers unanimously pass bill that would allow Alwyn Cashe to finally receive the Medal of H
Lawmakers in the House of Representatives unanimously passed legislation that would allow President Donald Trump to upgrade the Silver Star of Army Sgt. 1st Class Alwyn Cashe to the Medal of Honor, solidifying a step forward in the push to recognize Cashe for his heroic actions in 2005.
The House bill that passed on Tuesday waives the requirement that a service member receive the Medal of Honor within five years of their bravery so that Cashe's award can be upgraded, Military Times reports; language calling for the Medal of Honor was also included in the national defense authorization act this summer.

An Army sergeant major will be awarded the Medal of Honor for his remarkable bravery during a 2015 mission to free hostages from the Islamic State group, The White House announced Thursday.
Sgt. Maj. Thomas P. Payne, 36, will receive the nation's highest award for battlefield heroism during a ceremony at The White House on Sept. 11, according to the announcement, which said Payne's "extraordinary heroism and selfless actions were key to liberating 75 hostages during a contested rescue mission that resulted in 20 enemy fighters killed in action."
Somewhere there is a picture of him rocking brown corcoran jump boots with the new uniform.

Antelope Island crash 29 OCT 1992
Hill Air Force Base, Utah -- (AF) -- An Air Force helicopter crashed into the Great Salt Lake during rough weather, killing 12 people, authorities said Friday. The only other person aboard was rescued from the water.
A storm, with snow at high elevations, hampered rescue efforts but all 12 bodies were recovered, said Hill Air Force Base spokesman Dave Kendziora. The MH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter was on a training mission when it went down Thursday night in northern Utah's inland sea, about 100 yards off the northern tip of Antelope Island and about 15 miles west of Hill Air Force Base.
Kendziora said crews in search helicopters spotted debris and bodies in deeper water northwest of the crash, apparently pushed there by high wind. They were recovered by crews in boats.
One survivor was pulled from the water and was in serious condition at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center with cuts on his right leg and over his left eye.
The helicopter was assigned to the 1st Special Operations Wing headquartered at Hurlburt Field at Eglin Air Force Base outside Pensacola, Fla., said George Grimes, spokesman for the U.S. Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.
It may have been stationed with squadrons elsewhere in Florida, he said.
The only squadron that flies the Pave Hawk is the 55th Special Operations Squadron at Eglin.
The helicopter was on a joint Army-Air Force exercise, and those aboard could have included Army personnel, Grimes said.

MAJ Gabbards comment in the debate
She mentioned that a Democratic CNN commentator called her a Russian asset. I had to look it up and its true. I dont agree with everything she does.
Accusing a military officer of being a traitor is a serious thing. It can trigger a CID / FBI investigation, hold a security clearance or promotion.
And frankly I think a lot of the people yelling Russian agent are just childish. I was glad to see Ms April Ryan pushing back.
They are punks
And the right tags it on us because there are west coast towns who let them get away with it or condone their bullshit
