Yes, Native Hawaiians are considered Native Americans, along with other Native peoples of the United States and its territories. The term "Native Americans" is used to refer to all Native peoples of the United States, including Native Hawaiians and American Samoans.
The U.S. government recognizes Native Hawaiians as a distinct indigenous people with a historical connection to the original inhabitants of Hawaii. However, the U.S. has never formally recognized Native Hawaiians as it has Native American tribes and nations.
Native Hawaiians have a unique language, history, culture, and ancestral land base. Their culture is rooted in Polynesian traditions, and their religion is polytheistic, with a focus on the gods Wākea and Papahānaumoku.

I was curious if I was considered a First American and apparently I am despite the fact Hawaii is far, far from the shores of America. A few years ago, I was lucky enough to visit Moorea Tahiti and upon landing in Tahiti I was greeted by the local Polynesians and they said " Welcome home Sis" and I said " No no, I am not a Native Tahitian , I am half native Hawaiian" and she said, you are Polynesian so you are family!
So i always thought the Pacific Ocean was the home place of my Polynesian ancestors... But since Hawaii is a STATE... I guess that makes me an Native American ... but I prefer Native Hawaiian. It makes sense to me. am I right?? idk.
