Soccer game in Nigeria ends 79-0

The team was suspended for suspicions that the game was arranged, as they needed a certain number of goals to advance to the next level. Another game ended 67-0. The same measures were taken regarding those teams as well.

The analysts' reviews are in for "Dr. D" in the Zimmerman trial

Orlando Sentinel:

You know Dr. G, and now you know Dr. D.

Dr. Vincent Di Maio, an expert forensic pathologist, won raves for his testimony Tuesday at the George Zimmerman trial. Dr. D was dynamic, smart and unflappable.

"CNN's Ashleigh Banfield swooned over Di Maio's "unbelievable, remarkable testimony" -- she didn't mean he was unbelievable, but that he was so masterful. She praised his "folksy manner" and said he was "a real get" for the defense.

She wasn't alone in her admiration.

WESH-Channel 2 legal analyst Jeff Deen said Di Maio's testimony is easy to understand and that jurors go with what they understand. The jurors couldn't understand medical examiner Shiping Bao, a state witness, Deen said. Di Maio "did a great job," Deen said, and the state's experts were "so terrible."

Brazilian politicians "on all sides" support Eric Snowden

Wow. The anger at the news that the United States spies on Brazilians is not just coming from one group.

What a difference from the way the super unpopular U.S. Congress has bilaterally defended NSA Spying on Americans.

From today's AP (Author: Eraldo Peres):

"Politicians on all sides also voiced their support for Mr. Snowden, arguing that Brazil should have followed the lead of Venezuela and publically offered him political asylum. Senator Lindbergh Farias, a member of the majority Workers Party (PT), said that because Snowden had “the courage to expose the international espionage against citizens of the world, he should be treated differently.”

The data and correspondence interception allegations made over the weekend suggest there has been NSA surveillance on Brazilian citizens on a vast scale over the past decade, outstripping levels in most countries in the world. Although Snowden did not reveal precise figures, he alleged that in January Brazil was just slightly behind the US, where 2.3 billion phone calls and messages were logged"

George Zimmerman trial: Defense will likely rest case Wednesday

Source: CBS/AP

(CBS/AP) SANFORD, Fla. -- The defense will likely wrap up their case in the trial of accused murderer George Zimmerman Wednesday, defense attorney Mark O'Mara said in court Tuesday afternoon.

After the defense rests, the state will have the opportunity to call rebuttal witnesses, reports the Orlando Sentinel.

The defense launched testimony Friday, after the prosecution rested its case. Defense attorneys have called to the stand numerous witnesses including Zimmerman's mother and uncle to testify that the voice screaming for help in the background of a 911 call is Zimmerman's.

The call, placed by a neighbor the night Zimmerman fatally shot Trayvon Martin in a gated Sanford, Fla. community, has been a key point of contention because it could provide clues at to who was the aggressor in the fatal confrontation.
