No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalIgnore can be great.
I have no idea what vile things I'm missing, likely even to some of my own posts.
Blissful ignorance!
It would be a loss for this group or any group to lose you
as host.
You are interested in the topic and provide good and provocative material.
I can understand why you might be discouraged at times by some of the harsher commenters.
I guess they have won, but I don't blame you for wanting to do what is best for yourself.
Thank you, Justin, for all you have contributed as a religion host.
Isn't there some sort of invasive fish that's multiplying and may
endanger the native fish?
Probably not a problem to humans - yet.
Sorry to say - still up.
Wish I had more self-discipline when it comes to bedtime.
Anyway, I can sleep late in the morning.
No one to report to.
Such good news! nt
Have we ever discovered why Ms. Lerner
planted the question in the audience of the group to which she was speaking?
Her answer, saying to the effect that conservative groups were investigated more frequently than liberal political groups, instigated the whole brouhaha we witness now.
Thank you, Justin, for once again providing us with beautiful
sacred music appropriate for the season.
Most of us are not as good a Catholic as we might be.
But we keep at it, not giving up, not rejecting.
I haven't done well at Lenten resolutions; thought I'd go to weekday Mass at least once a week, but I only went on Ash Wednesday and no weekday since then.
Haven't said a rosary in decades (no pun), except maybe on a group retreat.
But I am a proud Catholic, and bristle when others denigrate my faith, even though I realize that there are real problems within the clergy and the hierarchy. After all, the Catholic Church is composed of human beings, who have frailties and weaknesses, and I am one of those persons with frailties and weaknesses, too.
Now Columbus is vying for the Democratic National Convention.
That would be quite a coup.
As for the speculation on Cincinnati and Cleveland for the GOP Convention - too many variables, many of which we don't even know - to make an informed guess.
When I say variables, I'm thinking of backroom players, etc. who may have influence of which we're not aware.
Faith proclamations by American politicians is a relatively recent phenomenum.
I've been following politics since my childhood in the 40's.
Although we were aware of a politician's religious leanings, I don't recall it as something on which a candidate campaigned.
John Kennedy made an effort in his speech to ministers to deflect attention from his religion.
We knew Jimmy Carter was a committed Christian, but he lived his faith rather than proclaiming it.
