The "Speech" should be exceedingly brief. This one who will
be reading it is not good at reading what is written for him.
It does not sound sincere, coming from him, and he tends to dop his voice at the ending words of sentences.
Not to mention - there is nothing he has to say that is of any interest to me or most Americans.
It will not be a speech for the ages.
I would love to see a large group - the majority present - just turn their backs to him as he reads what is written for him.
Jean Shepherd was on the air in Cincinnati in the early 1950's,
spinning his stories in the wee hours.
Fascinating stuff to a young high school student. - I'd never heard anything like it before, and likely not since.
I should revisit some of the old material one of these days.
That person is also officially ignored in my home.
Vulgarities, insults, and mean words have never had a place in my home and I see no reason to change that policy at this late stage of my life.
When a vulgar, crude person appears on my TV screen, the channel is changed or, if necessary, the TV is turned off. My radio is tuned to an all-classical station, which is ever-so-soothing at those times.
In the spirit of Christmas, I'll accept your premise!
So, which four states are likely to lose the congressional seats that Oregon,
Florida, NC, and Texas will gain?
I wouldn't mind if Wisconsin, Michigan, and PA were among the losers.

Because I am a senior, in the winter of my years, as they say,
I pray daily for strength and wisdom.
Those virtues seem ever more important as we see the incoming administration, known for holding values contrary to those that have served humanity well over the centuries.
With strength, we will not be pulled down in anger or defeat, but go about our lives in serenity, turning off as necessary the pervading noise around us.
