No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalOur only hope is to run candidates
in every district.
some would have to be sacrificial lambs, but sometimes even they could work out- an unhappy event on the other side could open up even a set believed unwinnable.
It's much harder now, due to gerrymandering of districts, but that doesn't mean throw in the towel.
How can Cardinal O'Malley dialog
if he turns his back on the Irish PM?
He would do more good to meet privately and express his position and reasons in an agreeable fashion.
Christ would not turn his back on the Irish premier.
Bringing the Eucharist to those unable to attend
is a wonderful ministry.
And you're correct re disappointment when they don't arrive.
My spouse, in a nursing home, was disinterested in most activities but looked forward to a communion service on Sundays, and an occasional Mass when the priest could make it.
And was visibly down when the Communion distributors didn't come
No Bible scholar here, but didn't the Jewish people
use the term "Yahwah" or "Jehovah" for God?
God is an English word derived from the Germanic tongues, I believe.
As I understand it - again I'm no expert- but Judaism, Christianity and Islam are regarded are the three monotheistic faiths, as opposed to Hinduism -many gods, Buddhism - no divinity, and others.
It is true that Muslims, though acknowledging Christ, do not believe in the divinity of Christ, so Christianity is very different from Islam in that respect.
Jews mostly recognize Christ as an historical figure, but not the Messiah, as christians claim.
Someone more knowledgeable can clean up where my thoughts above are a little off kilter.
Have you ever noticed that so often arguments or disagreements comes down to semantics, language differences, rather than arguments over definitions?
Can't call my Mom - She's on the other side.
So now, I'm the head Mama of my clan.
My adult kids will come to my house - the family gathering place,- and prepare a lovely meal for all of us tomorrow.
We'll sit down together, which is not always easy to make happen, because of their various commitments, and the dinner and the company will be very nice.
It's good for them to do this ritual, so that when I'm no longer here, they'll know they did the right thing for their Mom, and won't have guilt or regrets on that front.
And I do appreciate their attention.
Happy Mother's Day to all the Mamas, young & old.
I did not know Michelle's family situation pre-kidnapping.
Glad to know she has the twin who will help her.
Maybe the mother has split from the boyfriend, maybe not.
Michelle has enough tragedy in her life without the baggage of a bad family life.
I understood that the girls communicated even though separated. there were "holes" in the doors for passing through food, etc. There would have also been human waste to deal with. - not sure how they managed bathroom use when locked up. Imagine it will all come out some day, gruesome story that it is.
I heard once that Gina and the young mother shared a room at least at some point. Then the child Jocelyn would have been there.
Incidentally, re talk of the child's swimming pool used for the birth of the baby - my niece had a planned home birth and used a child's swimming pool, perhaps with water in it, not sure, for her home birth. I believe my niece had a doula assist her. Perhaps Castro researched home births and learned of the use of these pools in that instance.
Very sad. nt
I hope his Argentine lady
shows up and trails him all over Washington - a constant reminder of his escapade -to his constituents and the rest of the country.
I hope she stands behind him at every news conference and town hall meeting.
Redemption, is it?
(Glad I cancelled my trip to Hilton Head Island, SC that I was to leave for this coming Friday. There are many other options for vacations.)
