Are feds interfering with Phoenix PPE orders?

Phoenix Mayor, (D) Kate Gallego, is not alone. Heck of a job, Jared, you have blood on your hands. We will remember your mafia style crime family come November.

City of Phoenix chief financial officer Denise Olson tells 12 News the city has not been able to fulfill a PPE order for more than three weeks.

“We’ve had couple situations where the vendor said they could not meet those orders, that they’d been commandeered by the federal government. But then we went and tried to check that, and we don’t know what that means,” Olson said.

Olson says two of those vendors were Minnesota-based Fastenal and the Los Angeles-based Dunn Edwards.

Dunn Edwards denied knowing anything about that claim.

A spokesperson for Fastenal tells 12 News manufacturers of the masks stopped sending them inventory at the direction of the federal government and therefore the company had to cancel its order to the City of Phoenix.

Billionaire investor Howard Marks just told CNBC on Monday that “the world is more screwed up” than what the action in the stock market might lead you to believe.

Gary Evans of the Global Macro Monitor blog would agree.
“After the Fed effectively fully nationalized the financial markets by bailing out junk bonds on April 9th, turning Wall Street into a Soviet Sausage Factory, almost any type of analysis, which was on its way out anyway, was rendered completely meaningless,” he said.

“I would say basically we’re like the captain of a ship when the worst typhoon that’s ever happened comes,” Berkshire’s Charlie Munger said. “We just want to get through the typhoon, and we’d rather come out of it with a whole lot of liquidity. We’re not playing ‘oh goody, goody, everything’s going to hell, let’s plunge 100% of the reserves [into buying businesses].”

Bill Gates has a big problem with Trump’s ‘dangerous’ decision to defund the World Health Organization

President Trump announced Tuesday, at yet another contentious White House briefing, that the U.S. would suspend funding to the World Health Organization, citing the group’s role in “severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus.”

While his supporters backed the move, Microsoft MSFT, -1.00% co-founder Bill Gates clearly didn’t, and he let his feelings be known on Twitter TWTR, -3.18% :
“Halting funding for the World Health Organization during a world health crisis is as dangerous as it sounds,” the billionaire wrote. “Their work is slowing the spread of COVID-19 and if that work is stopped no other organization can replace them. The world needs @WHO now more than ever.”

America should be ready for 18 months of shutdowns in 'long, hard road' ahead, warns the Fed's Neel

America should be ready for 18 months of shutdowns in ‘long, hard road’ ahead, warns the Fed’s Neel Kashkari

By Shawn Langlois

‘This could be a long, hard road that we have ahead of us until we get to either an effective therapy or a vaccine. It’s hard for me to see a V-shaped recovery under that scenario.’

That’s Neel Kashkari, the head of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, painting a rather gloomy picture in a CBS interview on Sunday morning of what lies ahead for the U.S. economy as the country continues to battle the coronavirus pandemic.

Kashkari, while acknowledging the downside of what a prolonged shutdown could mean for the economy, said the U.S., “barring some health-care miracle,” is looking at an 18-month strategy of rolling shutdowns based on what has happened in other countries.

“We could have these waves of flare-ups, controls, flare-ups and controls, until we actually get a therapy or a vaccine,” he said. “We need to find ways of getting the people who are healthy, who are at lower risk, back to work and then providing the assistance to those who are most at risk, who are going to need to be quarantined or isolated for the foreseeable future.”

Coronavirus by ZIP code: New data shows where cases are found across Arizona
High rates of COVID-19 infections include near Indian reservations and in Scottsdale and Tucson.

Caitlin McGlade, Rob O'Dell, and Justin Price

Arizona health officials for the first time released coronavirus data by ZIP code on Sunday. The data showed hot spots of infections near Indian reservations, especially around Page, along with large numbers of cases in Scottsdale and Tucson.
Yet the state excluded much of the information needed to identify locations of outbreaks in the state.
The state Department of Health Services published its data as a map, showing a number of cases for each ZIP code. ZIP codes with more than 10 cases gave a specific number. Those with fewer gave ranges: "0," "1-5" or "6-10."

Soros’ $28 million in donations, detailed in a new campaign finance disclosure from his family’s PAC, marks a major down payment on the election for the 89-year-old billionaire financier, who has not publicly outlined his spending plans for the 2020 election.

Soros gave millions of dollars in January and February to the main super PACs planning to help presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and Democratic Senate candidates, including $5 million to pro-Biden Priorities USA and $7 million to Senate Majority PAC, which is aligned with Senate Democratic leadership.

He also donated major sums to groups building political power among women, including a $1 million donation to EMILY’s List, and $2 million to Supermajority, a PAC co-founded by former Planned Parenthood leader Cecile Richards and Black Lives Matter activist Alicia Garza.

Soros has also contributed money directly to fight the coronavirus, by giving 1 million euros to help his native Hungary prepare for the pandemic.
