White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany reiterated that President Trump is in very good spirits and having mild symptoms, but is making calls from the White House residence and will appear publicly in some capacity in the coming days.
"
We're having to hold him back a little here, because he's hard at work. He spoke to Sen. McConnell today, Sen. Graham, I just spoke with the chief of staff and President Trump has talked to him about emergency declarations and stimulus. So we're just trying to make sure that he takes it easy, but he is hard at work and will continue to, she said during an appearance on Fox News.
She suggested that Trump will appear publicly in the coming days but declined to provide additional details. .........................

Judge orders 2020 census to continue through October
Source: cnn
Updated 10:51 AM ET, Fri October 2, 2020
(CNN)A federal judge directed the Trump administration to not end 2020 census counting on Monday, and ordered it to continue until October 31.
Judge Lucy Koh wrote in no uncertain terms early Friday about the announcement by Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross this week that counting would end on October 5, more than three weeks earlier than the Census Bureau's own plan to conclude counting on October 31, which she reinstated.
Ross' directive was an "egregious violation" of her order, and she faulted the administration with "chaotic, dilatory, and incomplete compliance with the Injunction Order."
The Trump administration is in the process of appealing her preliminary injunction reinstating the October 31 date. But the appeals court has denied the government request to put the lower court ruling temporarily on hold while it considers the appeal.
Koh also directed the Census Bureau to send a text message to all of its employees on Friday "stating that the October 5, 2020 'target date' is not operative, and stating that data collection operations will continue through October 31, 2020." She cited contradictory messages from some supervisors of field employees as the reason for the wide message.
The National Urban League and other groups that filed the lawsuit against the Trump administration has asked Koh to also more closely supervise the census operation. ...................

How Trump's age and weight could put him at higher risk for severe coronavirus infection

President Trump and first lady Melania Trump are both in quarantine after they were diagnosed with coronavirus on Thursday, the president announced in a tweet. He is experiencing minor symptoms and will continue to carry out his duties as usual on Friday, a White House adviser said. But his age and weight could put him at risk of more severe illness.
......................
While people over 85 are most at risk and this age group has seen the highest rate of hospitalizations and deaths, people in the 65-74 and 75-84 age brackets also account for a large portion of coronavirus hospitalizations and deaths in the U.S. Eight out of 10 COVID-19 related deaths U.S. have been people over the age of 65.
...................
Obesity is also one of the factors that increases a person's risk of severe illness from COVID-19, according to the CDC. Obesity triples the risk of hospitalization for COVID-19.
During his 2019 physical, Mr. Trump, who is 6'3", weighed in at 243 pounds and had a body mass index of 30.4, putting him just over the threshold that's considered obese by the CDC. The president's doctor said he was "in very good health overall." At his most recent physical in June, his weight was 244 pounds one pound heavier.....................

DeVos won't appeal ruling over COVID-19 money not going to private schools
But the slimy weasel tried. damn
DeVos wont appeal ruling over COVID-19 money not going to private schools
Sentinel-Standard
Education Secretary Betsy DeVos on July 8, 2020, in Washington, D.C.
WASHINGTON U.S. education chief Betsy DeVos will not seek an appeal over a judges ruling denying her the ability to give federal coronavirus funds to private schools.
The CARES Act, Congress $3 trillion coronavirus relief plan, included over $13 billion intended for schools with low-income students.
DeVos, who has been Education Secretary since 2017, originally said she wanted the money to go to private schools based on enrollment, not the number of low-income students. This wouldve given private schools a much greater amount than originally intended.
Attorneys general from several states, including Michigan, sued DeVos over the interpretation. A judge issued an injunction stopping the interpretation Aug. 26, arguing that Congress was clear in its intent for the funds to go to low-income districts.
The statutes quintessentially plain language, and the surgical precision with which Congress incorporated Section 1117 into Section 18005(a), leave no room for any other reading, Judge James Donato, of the U.S. District Court in Northern California, wrote in his ruling.
