Also, don't go to the Wilson gofundme page unless you want to read some of the most vile racisr trash the internet has to offer, including someone who gave a $100 donation under the name 'Michael Brown' and thanked the officer for killing him and inevitably removing him from society.

Missouri’s schools underfunded by $656 million.

-snip-

Its authors, including Executive Director Amy Blouin, said, “Missouri can’t afford to further erode its tax base with tax cuts that will make it even harder to invest in Missouri schools.

“By failing to invest in quality education, we’re undermining the state’s economic development and our future,” Blouin said in a conference call.

Republican state lawmakers tried last year to cut state income taxes, an effort that was vetoed by Gov. Jay Nixon. They appear likely to try again this year, although perhaps with a narrower effort that would cost the state coffers no more than $120 million a year. Last year’s bill would have reduced personal and corporate taxes gradually as long as state revenue rose by at least $100 million annually. Nixon had said the bill would remove $800 million from the state’s budget.

The Missouri Budget Project study says schools in St. Louis County are underfunded by an average of $512 per student.

Hazelwood, for example, is underfunded by $854 per student, it says.

Ferguson-Florissant R-II is underfunded by $800 per student. Riverview Gardens is underfunded by $455 per student.

In the city, St. Louis Public Schools are underfunded by $317 per student.

I think I found where all that ca$h went:

For the "wait for evidence" crowd.

What evidence are you waiting for to emerge that you believe will justify the killing of an unarmed teenager running away from gunfire?

I hate to break it to you, but if the cops had even a shred of any evidence more damning than an alleged confrontation the cops would most likely have released it by now, even if just to calm tensions and allegations.

I'm not asking why you haven't made up your mind or which way you're leaning, I'm wondering exactly what missing evidence between the eyewitness accounts and officers account that you believe would justify killing an unarmed teenager.

For example, you could say: "I believe if Michael did punch the officer one time in the face and ran away then he deserved to die". Or, "stealing cigars is a no no and should be punishable by death!". Or, "he insulted the police officer and made him haz a sad, 6 bullets seems fair!". Or, "he picked up a piece of sidewalk!".

Insert your own, please. Just curious.

OPINION PIECE: Michael Brown was chased, hunted, and executed.

6 bullets entered Michael Brown's body.

The head shot was the final shot as the blood left his body from the previous 5 shots, struck through the top of his skull as he slumped to the ground. He was 18 years old, terrified, and panicking.

I get physically ill seeing how the media and police think anybody is stupid enough to believe that Michael Brown was "bum rushing" a police officer actively shooting at him from a distance. First you would have to convince me that the kid had a death wish. Then you have to convince me that the kid had a death wish while also convincing me that running AWAY from active gunfire constitutes a 'death wish'.

Newsflash: NO ONE runs towards the gun fire. Humans aren't even built like that. If rushing towards dangerous predators with no other means of offense/defense was part of human nature humans may be extinct by now.

He turned around to surrender. He turned around to run for cover. He turned around after thinking oh shit I'm in the wide open while being shot at, let me run towards the sidewalk/parked cars. Here's what no terrified, panicked teenager does: run toward the dangerous predator with no other means of offense/defense.

Anything that may or may not have happened during an alleged confrontation at the vehicle does not justify the killing of an unarmed teenager, anyone who says otherwise is a sadistic fuck.

Here is something that IS sometimes part of human nature if not handled properly: misplaced anger and rage. Combine that with a gun and results could possibly be deadly.

Michael Brown was chased, hunted, and executed.

Oh, and releasing that market surveillance footage on the same day as they released officers name was some bullshit to the highest degree.

(and of course 'opinion piece' was a bit of snarkasm for those complaining about opinion pieces)

1907 Joseph Pulitzer Quote [WTF happened to American journalism?]

I know that my retirement will make no difference in its cardinal principles,
that it will always fight for progress and reform,
never tolerate injustice or corruption,
always fight demagogues of all parties,
never belong to any party,
always oppose privileged classes and public plunderers,
never lack sympathy with the poor,
always remain devoted to the public welfare,
never be satisfied with merely printing news,
always be drastically independent,
never be afraid to attack wrong,
whether by predatory plutocracy or predatory poverty.

This was part of his retirement speech and his confidence in the future profession of journalism. Things have changed a bit since then it seems.

Joseph Pulitzer also fought in the Civil War in New York's cavalry 1st Regiment Union Army and served as a Democratic congressman for New York, all before becoming a journalist.

Mysterious giant hole in Siberia likely caused by global warming, not UFOs or meteors.

A mysterious giant hole has appeared in northern Siberia, prompting wild speculation about meteors, UFOs, and underground cities.

The likely explanation is less supernatural, scientists say, but no less extraordinary.

The Siberian Times reported the hole – which is more than 260 feet across and of unknown depth – was spotted from helicopters flying over the gas-rich Yamal Peninsula.

-snip-

Dr. Chris Fogwill, a polar scientist from the University of New South Wales, said the crater was most likely caused by a geological phenomenon called a pingo.

A pingo is a block of ice that forms under frozen arctic hillsides that can eventually push through the earth and leave an exposed crater once it melts away.

Can't decide if this is wonderful or nightmarish.

The song is beautiful, the Republicans are creepy. Mitch McConnell looks like the puppet from SAW and you can actually tell how drunk and angry Boehner us.

You would think the Christian conservative "pro-life" crowd would love child refugees, but NO!

I mean, here are a bunch of most likely christian children, whose parents didn't use birth control, and whose parents didn't choose abortion, deciding to possibly give their kids up for adoption, just like the "sidewalk counselors" try to coerce women into doing. Yet, with all the animosity and hate inside their christian conservative hearts, they are demanding America return them to violence and possible death.

The entire christian conservative "prolife" movement is actually the antithesis of anything even remotely resembling being prolife. They're for death penalty, for endless war, for cutting food-aid, for blocking healthcare, for lower wages, for guns everywhere. Their utter hypocrisy is only outdone by their sheer stupidity.

Prolife my arse, it's ONLY and ALWAYS been about CONTROL.
