This is a sad 4th of July for the Lady of the bay.
As she looks across the country she so loves, she is in pain.
She sees people making a good gross profit, but with so many deductions one can not keep a roof over their heads. And when they go for help, they are told they make too much. It is not the net the ones who are to help look at , but the gross that is ate away before the person sees the cheek.
She sees people with jobs, but no roof. Sees children starving. Sees people with brains, but no opportunity.
So much pain she sees in her beloved land. People shooting each other . People abusing each other with words and fists.
As we celebrate remember, she is crying. And after this Independence Day we must go to work to dry her tears and stop so much pain.
Come January, I will have tears of sorrow, tears of joy.
Joy, when Hilary takes the oath.
Sorrow, for the exit of a GREAT President.

In this 2 page online article, "The New York Times" looks at a dangerous milestone. The question now comes down to how long are the people in whole keep allowing those that say it (global warming) is not real, to keep up the dangerous ignoring of the problem.
The level of the most important heat-trapping gas in the atmosphere, carbon dioxide, has passed a long-feared milestone, scientists reported on Friday, reaching a concentration not seen on the earth for millions of years.
Scientific monitors reported that the gas had reached an average daily level that surpassed 400 parts per million — just an odometer moment in one sense, but also a sobering reminder that decades of efforts to bring human-produced emissions under control are faltering.

Governments have been trying since 1992 to rein in emissions, but far from slowing, emissions are rising at an accelerating pace, thanks partly to rapid economic growth in developing countries. Scientists fear the level of the gas could triple or even quadruple before being brought under control.
Indirect measurements suggest that the last time the carbon dioxide level was this high was at least three million years ago, during an epoch called the Pliocene. Geological research shows that the climate then was far warmer than today, the world’s ice caps were smaller, and the sea level might have been as much as 60 or 80 feet higher.
