Yes, those are always an amazing nationalistic spectacle. Do they actually keep people...

From going to war, though?

Some have said in the past, better to fight it out on the playing fields than the battlefields. Like wars, the cost is passed down to future generations, who may or may enjoy any benefit.

Is there a great difference between war and sport? Perhaps greater minds than mine can figure it out, how about yours?

Just don't hold that teenage rebellion versus the old country against us. You know, the one we can never stop talking about, LOL!

And to Chichester. Always planned to visit a friend there and in another one over in Cardiff, but it's not in the cards right now. Sigh.

Hoping by your signature line you mean reducing the debt by ending war and not killing off the poor.

A lot of those who are waving the flag and the Constitution in Washington, D. C., don't even want enough government left to help anyone but the corporations. You know, the 'get the government small enough to drown in a bathtub,' crowd. But still large enough to fit in every woman's womb, and policing everyone's private lives. Of course, they could save tax dollars by charging women for state mandated rape, and inciting mobs to kill off whoever resists their fascism. No ax liability there, stochastic terrorism is free.

GOP Jerk’s Wife Withholds Sex Because Of Transvaginal Ultrasound Bill

Is this the kind of atmosphere in all of the state legislatures taken over by the GOP?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/dc-politics/gop-takes-control-of-virginia-general-assembly/2012/01/11/gIQATCdGsP_story.html

These people inherited the mantle of these men from Virginia:

What would the Founders say about the raunchy music and laughter there?

I found this with a google search, on the Wonkette. Here is their take on the video:

Dave Albo is a Republican in the Virginia House of Delegates whose wife decided against sexing him — in flagrante delicto, apparently! — once she heard, on the teevee news accompanying their intercourse, about the creepy transvaginal ultrasound bill Dave’s party was pushing last week. Thanks to Wonkette commenter “UnholyMoses,” we can all enjoy Albo’s first-person account of the unexpected interruptus of his coitus.

Albo used the House’s weekly comedy open mic not only to relate his charming tale of conjugal visitry gone wrong but also to call out Democratic delegate David Englin, specifically, for emitting cock-blocking sex death rays straight from the Rachel Maddow Show.

PS Did you know that it is considered impolite for delegates to utter any derivative of the word “vagina,” even while disgorging the squishy minutia of their sex-making into the official record over a cassette-deck porn beat, UNLESS they are simultaneously working to restrict what women can do with their “V”s? Look it up! [YouTube via Wonkette commenter "UnholyMoses"]

I am disgusted and ashamed that this is what rich and powerful men are doing to my country.

Singling a DUer by name was verboten on DU2, under the 'discuss ideas and not people' rule.

That's all that's being said here, not that someone can't take issue with someone's views. Thom could have corrected what he saw was incorrect without giving the names of the DUers, couldn't he?

It wasn't as if DUers couldn't read the thread and understood what he wanted to say was wrong about their posts. They were trying to ask a question to learn. Generally I have not seen him, or his bot, or his staff, or whoever is posting videos from his show reply directly to any answer on his threads. I generally recommended his threads but didn't comment as I didn't have anything to add, seeing as he covered the subjects.

Do you understand what I'm saying? The names, I wish he had left those out. And for some reason, he seemed angry. Thanks for posting the video, BTW, as he had some deep information there. And it doesn't really matter what we say on it.

I hadn't commented on the thread because I didn't question that SCOTUS was the final arbiter.

I thought the mention of the Founders and ideals of resisting the aristocratic mindset we have been fighting for so long were important. It seems as if we are fighting the Civil War and even the Revolution over again in this country. It is due to Democrats not fighting as hard as they should to protect the hard-fought restrictions on these folks by FDR.

He ended with the conclusion we must remake Congress, or so I thought. That requires state by state activism, which the GOP has beat us on. It was just the tone of the spanking I didn't care for and I'm not sure why he said it that way. The first comment about Elleng seemed unnecessarily harsh and unproductive.

That's all I have to say, of course we can always do better and are willing to learn. Or else we wouldn't be here. Other than this, I have never disagreed with him on any subject and am mystified at the tone.

All those that predicted the end of the world from the SCOTUS.

Okay, then. Let's all calm down!

He reminded me of the scene where Edith Bunker was raped.

After she begged the rapist not to, he said to her:

"This is gonna happen."

Inevitability, don't resist, the way it is...

The repukes are profoundly changing America and the world for the worse with their attack on the human conscience.

Rush called waterboarding and what was done to the POW in Abu Graib just a fraternity prank.

The GOP got away with torture as American policy. No wonder this is happening...

March 21, 2012

'When did a woman's body become public property?'

It has been for most of human history as far as the powerful and the priest say.

We also have those who insist on control for genetics and making cannon fodder.

Neither of which respects women.

We have had an experiment in holding to an idea of individual freedom in this country, and apparently the powerful and the priests have decided it is time to end that experiment.

March 18, 2012

Rush's diatribe on Fluke turned him on, I'll bet. Nice going, GOP.

No Lone Rapist defense on this one. You guys own this prince, trying to give her one of Rick Sanctorum's gifts from God, or practicing for his new job raping women for the state for the GOP.

I wonder what station his radio was set on?

March 17, 2012

Rush's making light of the horrors committed at Abu Graif comes to mind.

They think this is funny, they're proud of him just like they didn't let up when Giffords was shot. The FB postings praising the killing of the little girl that day, since she'd grow up to a 'bleeding heart liberal' by allegedly Christian posters, quite young as well, terms their social views.

Terrifying POV, well armed, and increasingly in positions of authority. This will, of course, be written off as unrelated to any of my connections I've made... Just another lone crazed rapist...
