WOW!

Just 11 days till our first HUGE party and I am beyond excited! Cue up 24 hours to go by the Ramones, though maybe something from DJ Redfoo might be more appropriate since he’ll be there playing music.

Talk about an adrenaline rush. I am humbled and honored that Figue will be the host of the After Party of Desert Smash, a star-studded affair where pro tennis and Hollywood collides with players such as Novak Djokovic, Maria Sharapova, Andre Agassi, and stars including Gavin Rossdale, Gwen Stefani, Christian Slater and Joe Pesci to raise money for Children’s charities. What a way to kick off our Restaurant opening!!

I am absolutely honored and floored that Celebrity Chef Beau Macmillan may make an appearance and cook for the event as well! Beau Mac has been a friend for a long time and it always is an honor to cook with him.

end>
Francois was Beau's mentor.......

I need clarification regarding report, "Missouri Dems Introduce Legislation to Confiscate Firearms".

I have a lifelong friend with whom I often disagree...especially about politics. This article was posted on his Facebook wherein I was the primary addressee...

He posted with link to:

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2013/02/missouri-democrats-intruduce-legislation-to-confiscate-firearms-gives-gunowners-90-days-to-turn-in-guns/

.............This one is for "Farpoint". How many times did I see you post--"Their not coming for your guns." Incrementalism. These tyrannical Democrats will ultimately be unsuccessful; I still feel there is belief in the Constitution left in the hearts of men in our judicial system. The mere fact that these bums are even considering it, is enough that they should be kicked out of office.

I never heard of this website either....I sense it may be satire but really don't know. I thought this forum would be a safe place to secure appropriate feedback and discussion so that I can set the record straight with my friend....who has drank a lot of koolaide. He is also an Air Force War Veteran.

Voter Empowerment Act Introduced in Congress

http://www.pdacommunity.org/component/content/article/156-cfte-articles/2598-voter-empowerment-act-introduced-in-congress

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) and Reps. John Lewis (D-Ga.), James Clyburn (D-S.C.), and Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) introduced tandem legislation to update the nation’s antiquated voting systems.

The bills launched last week on the 49th anniversary of the 24th Amendment, which eliminated the poll tax. They closely follow the Brennan Center’s longstanding recommendations for voting reform.

“The ramshackle voter registration system is a prime cause of long lines and Election Day chaos. We have a chance to modernize our elections so that every eligible citizen is on the rolls, with lower costs and greater election security,” said Brennan Center President Michael Waldman. “On Election Day, President Obama said we need to fix this. Here’s how.” Read Waldman’s Reuters op-ed on the bill.

The Brennan Center also held a National Press Club briefing in Washington, D.C. with leading secretaries of state to discuss modernizing the voting system, including voter registration. Speakers included (from left) the Brennan Center’s Wendy Weiser, Hon. Ross Miller (D-Nev.), Campaign Legal Center’s Beverly Hudnut, Hon. Alvin Jaeger (R-N.D.), Hon. Kate Brown (D-Ore.), and Hon. Mark Ritchie (D-Minn.). Watch video here.

Ohio's State Senator Turner introduces Voter Protection Act

Today, drawing a sharp contrast between the presidential elections held in 2008 and 2012, Ohio State Senator Nina Turner (D-Cleveland) unveiled the Voter Protection Act, new legislation aimed at reforming the way elections are conducted in Ohio. It represents the first piece of legislation to be rolled out by either party in the 130th General Assembly.

Turner described the bill as “not about Democrats or Republicans, but about doing what is best for all of Ohio’s voters,” and said it aimed to avoid the types of uncertainties that faced Ohio’s voters in 2012 and to promote the right to vote by all eligible Ohioans.
The Voter Protection Act includes six primary areas of reform, namely:

■promoting voter registration
■protecting early voting hours
■preventing long lines on election day
■advancing the sophistication of the absentee voting process
■clarifying provisional voting, and
■modernizing Ohio’s election laws.

Just a thought....Ted Strickland for Secretary of Labor.....

Ted Strickland declined to run for Governor of Ohio in 2014...which leads me to speculate he may indeed be on the Presidents list. Ted is a friend to Labor....and a close friend to President Obama.

Anyone else have thoughts on this option?
