An idea I heard floated weeks ago: can the A.G. draft a blanket

immunity agreement for many (in theory all) people who work at the White House?

December 2, 2020

You might be on the right track. Yesterday I was only thinking

about people in the Trump circle.

It could be some high profile figure who has nothing to do with Trump, in keeping with his pardon of Michael Milken.

Like a Bernie Madoff or a Bill Cosby or someone involved in one of the big corporate scandals like Worldcom or Enron? Or maybe someone convicted in a Big Pharma scandal...

I sure would like to know.

Thought experiment.

What would have become of the thousands upon thousands of SA (stormtroopers) and Nazi supporters if Hitler had been abruptly removed as Chancellor in 1934 by Paul von Hindenburg at that very last hour when he and Franz von Papen finally began to have grave doubts about him?

Hmmm. Page 608 of "Rise and Kill First" by Ronen Bergman

details Mossad's plans to take out Iranian nuclear scientists. They did assassinate a number of them and the page closes by explaining that Fakhrizadeh was the scientist they were most worried about. Iran placed massive security around him. Meir Dagan was the brains behind the plan to assassinate the Iranian nuclear scientists. Dagan died in March 2016.

That's near the end of the book.

(It's a really good book, by the way)

I was sure it was Photoshopped too. Trump's thing is that he

always wants to project power, so I can't get over the fact that he did this.

His heroes--Bolsonaro, Duterte, Erdogan and Putin--wouldn't be caught dead in a photo op like that. It's inconceivable. They would probably execute any underling who suggested such a thing.

November 27, 2020

Disastrous. Who thought of this?

The first time I saw this I thought it was photoshopped by some clever anti-Trumper.

It's on the same level with the baby trump blimp.

Where are Spanky and Alfalfa?

Seriously, read or show her this:

Bob Woodward: (00:00)
And so, what was President Xi saying yesterday?

Donald Trump: (00:05)
Oh, we were talking mostly about the virus, and I think he’s going to have it in good shape. But it’s a very tricky situation.

Bob Woodward: (00:14)
Indeed, it is.

Donald Trump: (00:16)
It goes through air, Bob. That’s always tougher than the touch. The touch, you don’t have to touch things, right? But the air, you just breathe the air and that’s how it’s passed. And so that’s a very tricky one. That’s a very delicate one. It’s also more deadly than even your strenuous flus. People don’t realize, we lose 25,000, 30,000 people a year here. Who would ever think that, right?

Bob Woodward: (00:41)
I know. It’s much forgotten.

Donald Trump: (00:42)
It’s pretty amazing. And then I said, “Well, is that the same thing?”

Bob Woodward: (00:46)
What are you able to do for-

Donald Trump: (00:47)
This is more deadly. This is 5% versus 1%, and less than 1%. So this is deadly stuff.

Does she know about that taped Feb. 7 conversation between Trump and Bob Woodward

in which Trump warns Woodward that the virus is airborne and five times more lethal than the flu?

Maybe she'd believe it if it came from the president's mouth.

I love that quote. I think what he was getting at...

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro

I think what he was getting at is that anxiety and being backed into a corner stimulates survival instincts, and anger coupled with creativity that moves people who otherwise not do much to take action.

Stress triggers ingenuity.

But others will certainly have different interpretations.

I know that I got pushed by this administration into dropping almost every normal aspect of my life to just immerse myself in this chaos, rather than get paralyzed by it. But at times, I have felt paralyzed too. But luckily, those moments passed.

During our last fundraiser, I posted that quote twice on "stickies". It really is a quote that speaks to me for some reason. I miss Hunter S. Thompson and wonder what he would think about the last four years.

I still want to know why he lied and what he really talked about.

Peter Strzok was one of the two agents who interviewed him. What they observed was a man telling bald-face lies whose body language was that of someone being completely honest.

Strzok said he had never seen anyone lie in that way before.

Also, the agents wanted to end the interview, but Flynn kept it going, going on and on, and gave them a tour of the West Wing.

Does anybody else think the discussion had to to with the Magnitsky Act?
