NBC news says:
US officials say American presence in Yemen remains essential to intelligence gathering and counter-terrorism operations against al-Qaida,
but stress evacuations would be ordered if a serious threat is seen.
And of course we have noticed that we are in Yemen now, altho the "American presence" is not defined or numbered.

RadioShack Preparing To File For Bankruptcy As Soon As Next Month
(This article is only 4 paragraphs in its entirety.)
The filing could come as early as next month, reports the Wall Street Journal, as RadioShack is in talks with lenders who could help provide the cash to cover its operations during the bankruptcy protection proceedings.
The company is also reportedly in talks with a private-equity firm that could be interested in buying its assets out of bankruptcy, but that deal is far from being a sure thing. RadioShack might go the more typical road of reducing its debt and restructuring its operations in bankruptcy court.
Everything could change in the next few weeks, of course, but it seems inevitable that RadioShack has to do something its been bleeding cash and posting losses for 11 straight quarters.

FCC may allow advertisers to robocall your cellphone.
A broad coalition of 80 consumer groups, including the National Association of Consumer Advocates and the National Consumer Law Center, this week appealed to the FCC to ask the agency to leave the protections intact.
The groups left the FCC with this message:
On behalf of consumers throughout the United States, please --
Do not reduce the consumer protections of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
Ensure that industry callers using autodialers to make calls or send texts to cell phones are fully liable when they call wrong numbers and reach consumers who have not provided consent for those calls.
Maintain the current system of liability for wrong number calls to create incentives for these industry callers to create reliable technologies to enable them to avoid wrong number calls.

Saudi Arabia completes 600-mile wall at Iraq border
The fence-and-ditch wall includes 40 watchtowers, five layers of fence, sand embankments, radar system and camera installations, and the cost of the construction project has not yet been revealed, according to the report.
( entire article, above..it was a short peice)
Seems just the other month I was reading they were going to build wall..it sure went up fast.
Have also read that an important pipeline is just inside the wall, that protecting it was a key reason for building wall.
Did Gitmo "Suicides" Cover Up Murder? U.S. Sgt. Speaks Out on Deaths & Prison’s Secret CIA Site
Full transcript from Demoncracy Now.
Harpers Magazine contributing editor Scott Horton first raised questions about what happened on that night in a 2010 piece he wrote called, The Guantánamo 'Suicides.' For the piece, Horton won a National Magazine Award for Reporting. He appeared on Democracy Now! at the time, questioning the findings of the Naval Criminal Investigation Service, or NCIS, which investigated the deaths.
SCOTT HORTON: We were able to see how they had concluded the suicides occurred. And they state that these three prisoners bound their feet, bound their hands with cloth, stuffed cloth down their throats, in some some cases at least, put masks over their faces to hold the cloth in place, fashioned manikins of themselves to put in their beds to deceive the guards, put up cloth to obstruct the view of cameras, fashioned a noose, which they attached at the top of an eight foot wire wall, stepped up, as their hands and feet are bound and their gagging on cloth, stepped up on top of a washbasin, put their head through the news, tightened it, and jumped off. And moreover, that these three prisoners in nonadjacent cells did all of these things absolutely simultaneously in a clockwork-like fashion. So the story is just simply incredible. Simply, not believable, I should stress.
Chiquita sold to Brazilian company, goes private.
Chiquita agreed in October to be acquired by investment firm Safra Group and juice company Cutrale Group for about $681 million, or $14.50 per share. The agreement came after shareholders rejected a proposed merger with Irish produce company Fyffes first announced in March.
Chiquita is leaving its offices/headquarters in NC.
I have no idea where it will be moving to, probably Brazil?
Does Ocwen service your mortgage?
Karma train is running over it.
The state alleges that Ocwen has refused over the past two years to provide sufficient information to verify whether it was obeying laws intended to prevent foreclosure-related abuse, the Los Angeles Times reported late Monday.
Shares plunged 30% on the stock market today, hitting lows not seen since 2009.
If California and Ocwen, which is among the biggest U.S. mortgage servicers, can't settle, the company could lose its license in the state before the end of the year, which means that it could no longer collect payments and handle foreclosures.
State and federal investigators are also examining whether Ocwen delayed short sales of some homes so it could keep collecting fees, Bloomberg said last month, citing sources.
