Yuck. Chris Matthews is hard to listen to on his best days. But today he's adding noisy sniffing to his usual spittle-laden overtalking. Really tried to stick it out to see first numbers coming out of WV. But then he had to bring on Anne Coulter. Add gag to the yuck.
Robert Reich re: November
from his Facebook page:
A Hillary Clinton supporter writes: By continuing your support of Bernie now that his odds of getting the nomination are almost nil, you're just hurting Hillary and helping Trump.
A Bernie supporter writes: How can you say youll work your heart out to get Hillary elected if she gets the Democratic nomination? Ill never support Hillary. If Bernie forms a third party, Im with him. Or else Ill vote for the Green Party candidate.
With due respect, let me explain why I think both of these positions are wrong. As Ive said before, I believe Hillary Clinton is best qualified to be president of the political system we now have, and Bernie is best qualified to get the system we need.
So I urge you to fight like hell for Bernie as long as he has any chance at all. But if he loses the nomination, we must fight like hell for Hillary. Not voting, or voting for a third party candidate, helps Trump.
This doesnt mean giving up on Bernies principles. Regardless of the outcome of this election, we must keep up the pressure to reclaim our democracy and our economy from the privileged and the powerful. How do we accomplish this? One possibility: Form a third party as soon as the election is over, and start planning for 2020.
What do you think?
Plea
Support Sanders, or support Clinton. Or, if you will, vote against one or the other. But PLEASE our choice should not be determined by fictions promulgated from the rightwing. Accusation and innuendo are not facts. Research is easier today than its ever been, making it beyond disheartening to see long-debunked Republican slanders being used by Democrats against Democrats. When we get right down to it, we have no business asking how the Republicans could possibly choose someone like Trump while were busy using their talking points to target each other.
Trump's SCOTUS picks?
Really, Chuck?
All together now . . .
S'long!
