anti-immigrant fear mongering, like at the Convention.
I don't see how that's going to swing votes in the swing states.
Aug 9 BuzzFeed story: Breitbart staffers believe Trump PAID Breitbart for positive coverage.
So, before Breitbart became an overt part of the campaign, staffers thought he was a COVERT part of the campaign. For money.
Breitbart News denies this, of course.

As Donald Trump faces a growing backlash from conservative media over his recent attacks on a Fox News host, one prominent right-wing outlet remains firmly in his corner: Breitbart News, which has set itself apart by plastering its homepage with fawning headlines about the candidate, and all-caps assaults on his critics.
But not everyone within the websites editorial ranks is on board with Breitbarts boosterism, and many inside the company believe Trump has provided undisclosed financial backing to the outlet in exchange for glowing coverage, as I report in my forthcoming book about the GOP and 2016, The Wilderness.
According to four sources with knowledge of the situation, editors and writers at the outlet have privately complained since at least last year that the companys top management was allowing Trump to turn Breitbart into his own fan website using it to hype his political prospects and attack his enemies. One current editor called the water-carrying despicable and embarrassing, and said he was told by an executive last year that the company had a financial arrangement with Trump. A second Breitbart staffer said he had heard a similar description of the sites relationship with the billionaire but didnt know the details; and a third source at the company said he knew of several instances when managers had overruled editors at Trumps behest. Additionally, a conservative communications operative who works closely with Breitbart described conversations in which multiple writers and editors said Trump was paying for the ability to shape coverage, and added that one staffer claimed to have seen documentation of the pay for play.
All four sources spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to jeopardize their jobs; and none knew exactly how Trumps alleged arrangement with the privately held company worked.

Ex-Breitbart spokesman: Bannon (Trump CEO) talked like a white supremacist
http://www.mediaite.com/online/ex-breitbart-spokesman-bannon-ran-meetings-like-a-white-supremacist-rally/As the media and political worlds continue reacting to Donald Trumps campaign shake-up, a former employee for one of the moguls new hires is speaking out about how much racist rhetoric he casually throws out on a regular basis.
Kurt Bardella used to work under Stephen Bannon at Breitbart, where he served as the conservative websites spokesman. Bardella walked away from the site in March as part of the staff protest that took place when Breitbart seemingly proved its allegiance to the Trump campaign by siding against their own reporter during the Corey LewandowskiMichelle Fields saga.
Bardella spoke on ABC News Powerhouse Politics this week, where he described how Bannon would frequently rip on minorities, women, and immigrants during Breitbart editorial meetings.
If anyone sat there and listened to that call, youd think that you were attending a white supremacist rally, said Bardella. This is someone who has a very low moral compass, and the idea that this is the type of person that Donald Trump, as the Republican nominee, as president, would have closest to him is very disturbing.

Zika Might Affect Adult Brains, Too, Study Finds
Source: NBC News
The Zika virus, previously thought only to be a big threat to developing babies, might also affect adult brains, researchers reported Thursday.
Tests in mice suggest the virus can get to and damage immature brain cells in adults something that indicates Zika infection may not be as harmless for grown-ups as doctors have believed.
It will take much more study to know if human beings infected by Zika are at risk, but the report, published in the journal Cell Stem Cell, adds another disturbing twist to the Zika saga.
Zika is known to home straight in on developing nerve cells, especially brain cells, when it infects a fetus. The result is devastating birth defects a small head, known as microcephaly, profound brain destruction, and sometimes less obvious brain damage.

Clinton Foundation to end foreign donations if Hillary elected
Source: USA TODAY
The Clinton Foundation says that if Hillary Clinton is elected president, it will no longer accept foreign and corporate donations, the Associated Press reported.
Scrutiny of the Democratic presidential nominee's relationship with her familys charity is intensifying as Republicans charge that she gave its donors preferential treatment and access as secretary of State.
Bill Clinton told staff members on Thursday that it will also hold its final Clinton Global Initiative meeting in September in New York, the AP reported, citing meeting participants who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The decision also comes as Reuters reported that the foundation hired a cybersecurity firm to examine its data systems after detecting possible indications theyd been hacked.

As stated above, the foundation will also no longer accept corporate donations.
Trump should sell all his companies and pay off his bank debt if he wins.
Otherwise he'd be beholden to the banks the government regulates; and all his businesses would be impacted by every bill he signs.
How come the people complaining about a charitable foundation aren't more worried about Trump?
So how has the establishment GOP reacted to becoming the party of Trump/Breithart?
Have you seen any top GOP people willing to express a public opinion on this?
Rick Perry to Gold Star father: Shame on you, Mr. Khan!
https://www.texastribune.org/2016/08/16/perry-defends-trump-over-feud-gold-star-family/Former Gov. Rick Perry is defending Donald Trump's war of words with the family of a fallen Muslim soldier, saying the father "struck the first blow" against the Republican presidential nominee and is not above criticism in return.
"In a campaign, if youre going to go out and think that you can take a shot at somebody and not have incoming coming back at you, shame on you," Perry said in an interview Tuesday on CNN.
The father, Khizr Khan, harshly criticized Trump last month during the Democratic National Convention over the nominee's proposal to temporarily ban Muslim immigration. In the following days, Trump fired back by questioning why Khan's wife, who was standing beside him during his speech, did not speak, and arguing Khan did not have a right to attack him the way he did.
The episode brought Trump bipartisan condemnation, and it marked the beginning of a downward slide for his campaign that continues to this day. Perry's successor, Greg Abbott, issued a statement at the time saying the service of families like the Khans "cannot be questioned."

"The Patron Saint for Sissies"
This probably won't make you cry because you're tough. But it moved me, for sure.
A very short but powerful animated story about a father and son in 1959.

Campaign shakeup, new policy. Forget Mr. Nice Guy. Let Trump be Trump: MEAN.
So, according to the WA Post, he'll be pivoting away from any attempt at normalcy.
There's too much in this article to do it justice with an excerpt. I suggest you read the whole thing.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powerpost/paloma/daily-202/2016/08/17/daily-202-what-trump-s-latest-shakeup-says-about-his-flailing-campaign/57b3ba48cd249a2fe363ba23/
Trump plans to re-double his focus on holding big rallies and doing lots of TV hits. Hell also more aggressively attack Hillary Clinton, to the extent thats possible, and hell re-embrace his role as an outsider, making less of an effort to be nice to GOP greybeards.
During the primaries, when Trump was winning, then-campaign manager Corey Lewandowski always said "let Trump be Trump." He now wants to get back to that type of campaign culture. The moves send a signal, perhaps more clear than ever, that the real-estate mogul intends to finish this race on his own terms, with friends who share his instincts at his side, Costa writes.
-- This is another proof point that Trump is not trying to run the kind of serious campaign that can actually win the presidency. Thats why it will frighten the GOP establishment, scare off some mainstream donors who have been playing footsie with the billionaire and push congressional leaders like Mitch McConnell a little closer to cutting Trump loose maybe even before Labor Day. (Bannons site single-mindedly went after Paul Ryan in the run-up to his primary.)
-- Both of the newly-elevated advisers are conservative populists who will never discourage Trump from following his id. Its hard for a 70-year-old man to change his ways, especially this one. Donalds id demands instant gratification more than most peoples, and hes long struggled to control his impulsiveness.
