American Airlines flight attendants on Thursday voted on a new five-year labor deal, giving cabin crews more than 20% immediate raises.
American Airlines flight attendants approved a five-year labor deal, ending one of the industry's most contentious contract negotiations and giving cabin crews more than 20% raises at the start of October.
Eighty-seven percent of the American Airlines flight attendants who voted approved the contract, the union said Thursday, shortly after polls closed.

Just a heads up. I was shopping online for wedding gift and went to Sur Le Tab and wow. I just bought

A 14x18” solid teak cutting board that usually sells for $69 for $19:60. Really nice one, too.
They are celebrating their anniversary (1960) and their sale is really worth a look.
I got 4 extra for Xmas gifts. Just a heads up.

So Clarence Thomas is directing Trumps lawyer how to present his defense!? Jack Smith agreeing!

Trump’s lawyer saying in court to Judge Chutkin “ Thomas directed us to raise this issue“

Chutkin apparently responded “he directed you to do that?”
Trump’s attorney said well he didn’t direct us to and tried to backtrack.
Jack Smith sitting in court by nodding to judge YES.

Nick Fuentes is so upset he didn't know that Trump lost the election.

This is pretty great to hear him say it out loud.

How Russian operatives covertly hired U.S. influencers to create viral videos.

Federal officials have accused Russia of using unwitting right-wing American influencers in its quest to spread Kremlin propaganda ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
On Wednesday, the Justice Department charged two employees of RT, the Russian state media broadcaster, in a scheme to secretly fund and direct the production of social media videos that racked up millions of viewers.

The RT staffers, named in the indictment as Kostiantyn Kalashnikov and Elena Afanasyeva, have been charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act. They’re accused of funneling nearly $10 million to an unnamed Tennessee company that contracted with online influencers with big audiences.

A good article with lots of links…. Also available as A/V clip.

6 babies abandoned throughout Harris County in 3 months (Houston)

HARRIS COUNTY – In the last three months, there have been six separate incidents involving abandoned babies in Harris County. Within the last week, two newborns were found dead just days apart.

August 20: A lawn crew found the body of a newborn baby in front of a concrete industrial plant in the 15000 block of Henry Road in the Aldine area around 2 p.m. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the infant was found partially clothed and laying on a blanket in a ditch. A detective at the scene said the newborn appeared to be a Black female and the umbilical cord was still attached. They believed she was only in the ditch for a matter of hours.
August 14: A newborn baby boy was found dead inside of a trash bin in Northwest Harris County. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said waste collection workers made the gruesome discovery while they were servicing the neighborhood in the 13200 block of Fountain Crest Drive. The baby’s body was in the back of a trash compactor inside the truck. Surveillance video captured the moment crews noticed the body. Investigators say the baby was estimated to be around one-day to 30-days-old and his umbilical cord was still attached.

This makes me ill. Another 2 babies found dead after being abandoned. We have Moses laws and drop off places and they just would rather throw them away. What kind of person does this?

Sex and syphilis: Paul Gauguin's teeth prove we may have got the bad boy artist wrong

This is such an interesting article for several reasons.
Partly because of the mention of the age of consent around the world at the time, also about the colonialism going on at the time.

The French artist’s legacy has been tarnished by his scandalous behavior in Tahiti — but intriguing evidence suggests it’s time to think again, says his biographer.

I wonder if this is part of the reason Gov Abbott declared victory at the border?

At least 17 Texas Guardsmen have died while deployed during the contentious mission to secure the southern border in the past three years, a Texas military official told state lawmakers earlier this month.
Family members of some of those service members have received $500,000 in compensation thanks to a recently authorized state death benefit, but several others were denied or have their claim remaining under review, according to Shelia Bailey Taylor, the Texas Military Department director of state administration, who revealed the death toll on Aug. 20.
The troops served on Operation Lone Star, a mission consisting of Texas Guard members and other state law enforcement officials that Governor Greg Abbott said was enacted to stop drugs and or people from entering into Texas across the U.S.-Mexico border without authorization.

Another point to be made on Arlington cemetery incident. Raw Story is reporting that TSF got a pass from

Mike Johnson.

The Republican Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, reportedly pulled strings to get Donald Trump into Arlington National Cemetery, amid what has become a scandal and a crisis for the ex-president's campaign to re-take the White House and once again become Commander in Chief. Despite federal law that prohibits using the hallowed resting place of 400,000 of the nation's service members for political purposes, on Monday the Trump campaign photographed, filmed, and released video across multiple social media platforms showing the one-term president and convicted felon awaiting sentencing participating in a wreath laying ceremony followed by him standing in a sacred section where photography is highly-regulated, and standing by several headstones, grinning, in his famous "thumbs up" pose, which was widely condemned.

… That source also reportedly told The Daily Caller, “Arlington Cemetery officials claimed the families didn’t want any media, photography, or videography at Section 60, contradicting what the families had actually requested. The families were fine with the media, designated by the Trump team, but Arlington kept pushing back, obstructing the process.”
