The U.S. military blocked Internet access to an infamous Russian entity seeking to sow discord among Americans during the 2018 midterms, several U.S. officials said, a warning that the groups operations against the United States are not cost-free.
The strike on the Internet Research Agency in St. Petersburg, a company underwritten by an oligarch close to President Vladimir Putin, was part of the first offensive cyber campaign against Russia designed to thwart attempts to interfere with a U.S. election, the officials said.
They basically took the IRA offline, according to one individual familiar with the matter who, like others, spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss classified information. They shut em down.
The operation marked the first muscle-flexing by U.S. Cyber Command, with intelligence from the National Security Agency, under new authorities it was granted by President Trump and Congress last year to bolster offensive capabilities.

Judge calls Roger Stone's actions "deliberate", apology rings hollow, release w/o modification poses
https://twitter.com/BritainEakin/status/1098687433171001345ABJ: concerned that Stone used his platform to incite others who may feel less constrained, which poses a real risk that others with violent inclinations might be inflamed. Calls his actions "deliberate," and says he couldn't keep his story straight on the stand.
Judge ABJ says Stone's post had a "more sinister message." But notes that he "fully understands the power of words, and the power of symbols. And there's nothing ambiguous about crosshairs."
Judge ABJ: "It's the lawyers, not Mr. Stone, who were appalled. So thank you for the apology, but it rings quite hollow."
Judge ABJ says his release under the current set of conditions without modification does pose a danger to the others and/or the community.
Judge ABJ is modifying the gag order. "No Mr. Stone, I'm not giving you another chance. I have serious doubt whether you learned any lesson at all." He can no longer speak publicly about the investigation or case, but he can still fundraise and proclaim his innocence.
Judge ABJ makes it clear that this is his second chance. "This is not baseball. There will not be a third chance," she says. ABJ is clear that she will detain Stone ahead of trial if he violates the new gag order. And that's a wrap folks.
IRS analyst charged in leak of Michael Cohen's bank records
Source: CNN
(CNN)An analyst with the Internal Revenue Service was charged with disclosing confidential reports about Michael Cohen's bank records that revealed the President's former lawyer sought to profit from his proximity to the White House.
The analyst was charged by the US Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California with the unauthorized disclosure of a suspicious activity report, or SAR. Banks file SARs on any transactions that could be illegal.
CNN previously reported that the Justice Department was investigating the leak last year of the confidential reports.
The bank transactions of Cohen became public last May when lawyer Michael Avenatti posted a memo online outlining numerous payments to Cohen from a company linked to a Russian oligarch, pharmaceutical giant Novartis, AT&T, which owns CNN, and others.

Dems prepare to force Trump to reveal private talks with Putin
Key chairmen met with the House general counsel in a bid to put any subpoena fight on firm legal ground.
House Democrats are taking their first real steps to force President Donald Trump to divulge information about his private conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, setting up an extraordinary clash with the White House over Congress oversight authority.
Rep. Adam Schiff, the Intelligence Committee chairman, and Rep. Eliot Engel, the Foreign Affairs Committee chairman, told POLITICO they are actively consulting with House General Counsel Douglas Letter about the best way to legally compel the Trump administration to turn over documents or other information related to the presidents one-on-one discussions with the Russian leader.
I had a meeting with the general counsel to discuss this and determine the best way to find out what took place in those private meetings whether its by seeking the interpreters testimony, the interpreters notes, or other means, Schiff (D-Calif.) said in a brief interview.

In particular, Democrats say they want to find out what Trump and Putin discussed during their private meeting in Helsinki last July, where Trump put himself at odds with the U.S. intelligence community and declared while standing next to the Russian president that the Kremlin did not interfere in the 2016 elections.

Checkmate
Evidence in Stones case was discovered while looking at the Russians who were charged with interfering in our election.
We also know Stone was directed by a senior campaign official to contact Wikileaks.
Wikileaks = Russian Intelligence = Collusion
Checkmate.
