Arizona Republicans Sue To Block Ballots In Latino Precinct

RYAN J. REILLY NOVEMBER 13, 2012, 5:03 PM 32150

One of the few unresolved congressional races in the nation could come down to whether voters in a heavily Latino precinct in Arizona get their ballots counted this week.

Backed by two high-powered lawyers, a supporter of Republican congressional candidate Martha McSally filed a lawsuit on Tuesday to get election authorities to halt counting of provisional ballots from a heavily Latino area of the state’s Cochise County.

The suit could be pivotal as McSally is trying to unseat Rep. Ron Barber (D) in southern Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District. At last count, McSally was trailing Barber by just 512 votes, but the lead had changed hands multiple times since election night.

Jim Nintzel of the Tucson Weekly reported that Barber campaign manager Jessica Floyd called the lawsuit an “active attempt by Martha McSally’s attorneys to disenfranchise voters in Cochise County.”

More On Patraeus Scandal: Jill Kelly's "Phony Cancer Charity" With "Diplomatic Protection"

So in addition to the thing with the shirtless FBI agent, helping bring down Gen. Petraeus and now maybe Gen. Allen, Jill Kelley also has what appears to be a phony cancer charity.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/13/jill-kelley-charity-david-petraeus_n_2124213.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000003

But it gets better.

Kelley also seems to think she has something called “diplomatic inviolability” perhaps tied to her made-up role as “unofficial social liaison”?

Over the weekend she called 911 over the weekend to help chase people off her yard. And this is what she said, according to transcripts of the 911 call …
http://wap.myfoxtampabay.com/w/news/story/78156283/

“You know, I don’t know if by any chance, because I’m an honorary consul general, so I have inviolability, so they should not be able to cross my property. I don’t know if you want to get diplomatic protection involved as well,” she told the 911 dispatcher, who agreed to pass the information along to police.

Limbaugh: ‘I am the primary reason’ Mitt Romney lost

“Just as I predicted, ladies and gentlemen,” he said. “This election was lost because of your host, Rush Limbaugh. I am the primary reason.”

While that’s not exactly correct, Limbaugh was in fact the first big target of one of President Barack Obama’s principle reelection strategies: winning with women.

...........................

It’s a long held addage in American politics that if you cannot win with women, you cannot win at all. And after high profile Republicans made a series of idiotic comments about rape, birth control, abortion and other issues of importance to women, Obama ultimately took 55 percent of the female vote versus Mitt Romney’s 44, even though Romney won among Caucasians and married women. As the Gallup polling firm explained, it was the largest gender gap in U.S. electoral history, and its beneficiary was primarily President Obama.

...........................

“There are others, but I’m the primary reason the Republican Party lost,” he added. “And I am, by the way, the primary reason the Republican Party will keep losing, until I am denounced by the Republican Party.”

The Citizens of Florida Move to Impeach Governor Rick Scott.

Petitioning The U.S. Senate
The Citizens of Florida Move to Impeach Governor Rick Scott.

Petition by
Earl Small
Jacksonville, FL

The Constitution of Florida provides for impeachment and removal from office for officials who have committed misdemeanors or worse crimes.

The citizens of Florida urgently call for the Impeachment of Florida Governor Rick Scott for his blatant voter suppression activity during the 2012 elections.

Florida Governor Rick Scott has done his best to prevent Democrats from voting in the 2012 Presidential Election. First, Scott and his Republican legislature undertook a purge of Florida’s voting lists that were so biased against minorities (who tend to vote Democratic) that the state was sued by the Department of Justice for violating the National Voter Registration Act. The purge was so overly aggressive that there are now reports of multiple military personnel being disenfranchised by the State of Florida for the 2012 election. In addition, Scott and his Republican co-conspirators in the legislature dramatically cut back on early voting hours in Florida.

Their moves now stand as a clear indicator that Florida’s Governor and legislature have no qualms about suppressing the votes of their opponents.

Governor Rick Scott led efforts to suppress voter turnout by curtailing early voting hours which resulted in confusion and extended waiting periods for voters all across the state.

Florida’s Republican Governor Rick Scott cut the number of early voting days from 14 to eight, Scott signed into law changes in 2011 that cut early voting days from 14 to eight. As the early voting lines grew longer, he refused requests to issue an executive order adding more days.

All early voting was cut except in the five counties covered by the Voting Rights Act. Those counties continued to have 12 days of early voting. Scott also eliminated early voting on the Sunday before the election, a heavy voting day for minorities. In 2008, 33.2% of Floridians who voted on that Sunday were black, while 23.6% were Hispanic, these actions clearly show that the Governor sought to use suppression tactics on the Democratic voters of the State of Florida.

Additionally the number of voting machine allocated to Democratic areas, versus Republican areas was severely limited, with some polling areas having insufficient machines to handle the high voter turnout.

His Failure to allocate sufficient voting machines to Democratic areas is deliberate voter suppression and should be deemed illegal simply because of a lack and insensitivity to the rights of Democratic voters.

We the citizens of Florida strongly feel it is time to investigate and impeach Gov. Scott because Florida can do much better!

oh, is the little-bitty elephant scared???

Bottom line: the only thing that can stop the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy expiring is if the White House or Democrats get cold feet. And the good news is that there's no sign of that happening.

Norquist pledge takes election hit (Norquist’s majority in Congress is all but gone.)

Norquist pledge takes election hit
By Russell Berman - 11/13/12 05:00 AM ET

Republicans might have held the House, but Grover Norquist’s majority in Congress is all but gone.

Fewer incoming members of the House and Senate have signed the pledge against tax increases run by Norquist’s Americans for Tax Reform, in a reflection not only of the seats that Democrats gained but of the success they’ve enjoyed in vilifying Norquist.

About a dozen newly elected House Republicans refused to sign the anti-tax pledge during their campaigns, and another handful of returning Republicans have disavowed their allegiance to the written commitment.

With Democrats picking up seven or eight seats, that means the pledge guides fewer than the 218 members needed for a majority. In the Senate, where Republicans lost two seats, just 39 members of the chamber are pledge-signers, according to the group’s records. That is a drop from 238 members of the House and 41 senators who committed to the pledge at the start of the 112th Congress.

GOP Grapples w-FAILURE: Dems “must be looking at us like we’re biggest f__king morons in the world”

GOP Grapples With Embarrassing Polling Failures
It hurts to lose. It hurts even more when you don't see it coming.

No matter what the answer is, the GOP knows it must come up with a more reliable method of measuring the electorate. It hurts to lose; it hurts more when a party doesn’t see it coming. And this year, Republicans were completely blindsided.

Democrats “must be looking at us like we’re the biggest f——- morons in the world,” one frustrated Republican said. That’s what I’d be doing.
