Dems Amendment to Clean Air Act stuck into Biden's IRA-Defines C02 as air pollutant

Aaahahahahahaa holy shit the Dems actually stuck an amendment to the Clean Air Act into Biden's IRA that explicitly defines CO2 as an air pollutant, giving the EPA back its ability to regulate greenhouse gas emissions and directly addressing the Supreme Court's ruling.o

Trump ally's letter meant to help him actually spells out even graver concerns re: Mar-a-Lago docs

A Trump ally produced an unpublished letter meant to help him. It actually spells out even graver concerns over documents at Mar-a-Lago.

...........

John Solomon, a conservative journalist with links to Trump, highlighted the letter for showing the arms-length involvement of President Joe Biden in the investigation that later led to the raid at Trump's home.

But the document also revealed the previously-unknown scale of secret information contained in documents there, and how damaging officials thought it was to national security.

Legal experts were quick to say this was the more serious revelation, and that Solomon's publication of the letter backfired.

Intent?

I can’t help but notice that Windom obtained the subpoena the day after Paul Sperry claimed the Trump had been hoarding documents at Mar-a-Lago with the intent of thwarting the January 6 Committee. (h/t Ron Filipkowski)

Anything seized in the raid would, by definition, be evidence of a crime (the obstruction already under investigation). And Windom might have been able to craft the subpoena to obtain everything January 6 related that Trump had withheld, without the privilege waiver from Biden.

And if Windom issued this subpoena in response to Sperry’s comment, then it’ll increase the likelihood that responsive materials will be turned over before any further legal stalling happens.

In other words, by hoarding the documents he most wanted to withhold from the Committee, he may have made it easier for prosecutors to get the materials.

Women are registering to vote in Pa. in numbers far exceeding men since the SCOTOS abortion decision

Of the women who have registered since the decision, there are four Democrats for every Republican

...............

Thousands of women across Pennsylvania and the country have registered to vote since the June 24 Dobbs v. Jackson decision that overturned the federal right to an abortion in the United States.

Pennsylvania has had one of the nation’s biggest gender gaps in new registrations, according to Democratic voter data firm Target Smart, which said women have outpaced men by about 12 percentage points in new registrations since June 24. That gap is three times larger than their estimate of a 4-point difference in total registrations. (Gender is an optional field when registering to vote in Pennsylvania, so the state’s voter rolls don’t provide a complete picture of the gender split in registrations.)

Newly registered voters say they were motivated by the decision, and Democratic activists said they’re working to capitalize on that anger with voter registration drives and more women-focused organizing events. Similar voter enthusiasm and political organizing has followed other major events, including the racial justice protests in 2020 and the 2018 mass shooting at Parkland High School in Florida.

In Pennsylvania, 62% of women registering since Dobbs registered as Democrats, 15% as Republicans; 54% were younger than 25.

I am SO fed up with the MSM.

It’s been seven years since it became apparent that the press needed new discourse norms for covering out-and-out bad-faith actors, and we’ve barely gotten anywhere.

Lawyers are giggling at Trump's motion, and how poorly it was done, but note that it is receiving respectful coverage from the press. Reporters are writing up Trump's allegations and requests because they appeared in a legal filing; what Trump alleged and what he wants is "news."

Documents recovered at Mar-a-Lago were among government's most classified, letter shows

Documents recovered at Mar-a-Lago were among government's most classified, letter shows
In the letter, posted on a Trump-aligned journalist's website, the National Archives pushed back on Trump's privilege claims.

The National Archives found more than 700 pages of classified material — including “special access program materials,” some of the most highly classified secrets in government — in 15 boxes recovered from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in January, according to correspondence between the National Archivist and his legal team.

The May 10 letter — posted late Monday on the website of John Solomon, a conservative journalist and one of Trump’s authorized liaisons to the National Archives to review papers from his presidency — showed that NARA and federal investigators had grown increasingly alarmed about potential damage to national security caused by the warehousing of these documents at Mar-a-Lago, as well as by Trump’s resistance to sharing them with the FBI.

These records included 700 pages of classified material, according to the letter, sent by National Archivist Debra Wall to Trump’s attorney, Evan Corcoran, and it doesn’t include records recovered by the Justice Department and FBI during a June meeting and the Aug. 11 search of the Mar-a-Lago premises.

Wall’s letter describes earlier correspondence in which Trump’s team objected to disclosing the contents of the 15 boxes to the FBI.

“As you are no doubt aware, NARA had ongoing communications with the former President’s representatives throughout 2021 about what appeared to be missing Presidential records, which resulted in the transfer of 15 boxes of records to NARA in January 2022,” Wall wrote. “In its initial review of materials within those boxes, NARA identified items marked as classified national security information, up to the level of Top Secret and including Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Access Program materials.”
