We celebrated our nephew's wedding on the 16th of this month
Most of the wedding party including the bride got covid.
My beautiful daughter, my 2 grandsons, my sister-in-law (fully vaccinated), nephew and who knows who else are now sick.
We had been SO careful and then we just got caught up in the moment and the opportunity of seeing friends and relatives from around the world.
Don't let your guard down DU - We did and we got slammed.

"People's Convoy" chased out of Bay Area by egg-throwing kids
The dreams of the "People's Convoy" quickly died in the Bay Area after a critical tactical error: turning onto a street with a Safeway and a group of bored kids.

On Friday afternoon, the small convoy of semi-trucks, pickup trucks and minivans and cars drove to Democratic Assembly member Buffy Wicks’ East Bay home to protest her support of an abortion rights bill. As they honked and used bullhorns in the quiet residential neighborhood, neighbors gathered to heckle them right back, yelling at the truckers to get off their street.
Livestreams posted by convoy participants show police arriving to protect Wicks’ home, which eventually prompted the group to move on. It was here they made their mistake, driving onto busy, one-lane College Avenue on the Berkeley-Oakland border. There, slowed down by the usual Friday afternoon traffic, they were sitting ducks outside the Safeway. A large group of kids, armed with eggs purchased at the grocery store, began pelting the convoy.

During the summer of protests after the murder of George Floyd, millions of ppl - including incredible numbers of white kids - marched in defense of black lives. This shook the white conservative establishment to its core. In their minds their children had been indoctrinated. 1/2
2/2 All of the CRT panic, book banning and anti-protest laws are a direct response to this. They are trying to push white children’s exposure to - and sympathy for - racial issues back to the dark ages of Jim Crow ignorance. It is a simple as it is shocking.
