At a Chicago nightclub, George Papadopoulos allegedly makes explosive new claim about Jeff Sessions

On Thursday at a Chicago nightclub, Papadopoulos had some drinks and, in a conversation with a new acquaintance, allegedly made new and explosive claims about Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Papadopoulos, according to this new acquaintance, said that Sessions was well aware of the contact between Papadopoulos and Joseph Mifsud, an academic from Malta with high-level connections in Russia. Papadopoulos’ indictment revealed that Mifsud had told Papadopoulos that the Russians had “‘dirt’ on then-candidate Hillary Clinton in the form of ‘thousands of emails.'”

Jason Wilson, a computer programmer who lives in Chicago, told ThinkProgress that Papadopoulos said during their conversation that “Sessions encouraged me” to find out anything he could about the hacked Hillary Clinton emails that Mifsud had mentioned.

Wilson said he recognized Papadopoulos and his wife Simona Mangiante at Hydrate, a Chicago nightclub, on Thursday night at approximately 11 p.m. Wilson sat down their table and introduced himself. He said the couple, who were drinking vodka, were extremely friendly and a bit flattered that Wilson had recognized them.

After some conversation about the city and their marriage, Wilson turned the topic to the Russia investigation, asking Papadopoulos whether he thought Wilson would be disappointed when all the facts came out. Papadopoulos responded that things were “just getting started” and emphasized Sessions’ role, particularly his connection to Papadopoulos’ contacts with Mifsud.

Wilson provided ThinkProgress with a photo of Papadopoulos, Mangiante, and himself outside of Hydrate. The bar’s address is visible over Papadopoulos’ shoulder.

Simona Mangiante, in an interview with ThinkProgress on Friday night, confirmed that she was at Hydrate with George Papadopoulos on Thursday.

In an interview last December with ABC News, Mangiante said that Papadopoulos was “constantly in touch with high-level officials in the campaign.” Speaking on Friday with ThinkProgress, Mangiante said that Sessions was one of the officials in contact with Papadopoulos. “(Sessions) talked with George,” Mangiante said. She declined to provide further details.

Mike Pence's home town is getting its first gay parade - thanks to a high school girl

Erin Bailey, 18, is YET ANOTHER example of a teenage girl being an absolute badass.

Teenage girls know how to get shit done. If you need supporting evidence, there's tons of it. Just in the past year — teenage girls have done things like spearhead national gun control protests and create software to help women find abortion clinics. And now, 18-year-old Erin Bailey is in the national spotlight for organizing the first ever LGBTQ pride festival in Columbus, Indiana, or vice president Mike Pence's hometown.

Bailey, a high school senior in Columbus, told Cosmopolitan.com her school requires all seniors to complete a project in order to graduate. She knew she wanted to focus her project on activism for either women's or LGBTQ rights (two things on which Pence has a horrific voting record).

"I was on a panel for last year's seniors and they all had really nice projects, but they just seemed... kind of small I guess," Bailey said. "I was just like, I want to do something really big and make a really big change."

Bailey went to a pride festival in Bloomington, an Indiana town about an hour away from Columbus, when she figured out exactly what her project should be. "I was like, Columbus doesn't have anything like this," she said. "This is what I have to do."

“I have to admit I’m enjoying watching Laura Ingraham’s flopping around in the bottom of the boat. I’ve long been a fan of her ability at dehumanization, all the way from that time at Dartmouth when she helped to out gay students. Read that old New York Times Magazine piece. God, it was a high time to be a conservative without a conscience.

“As we sat in the bar of the Tabard Inn knocking back big glasses of Sambuca ("Should we all sing 'Kumbaya'?" suggested Ingraham), she entertained us with stories of her adventures in El Salvador during the mid-80's. What was she doing there? I asked. "Subjugating third-world nations," she said with a dry laugh.”

Between 1980 and 1992, estimates say, 75,000 people were killed in a civil war in which the United States was intimately involved. Archbishop Oscar Romero, who’s on his way to becoming a saint, was murdered on the altar during mass. Four American nuns were raped and murdered by our client army. Wasn’t Ms. Ingraham just a card back then?

Anyway, when she first took her cheap shot at David Hogg, there was a part of me that said, well, he walked into the slaughterhouse with the rest of us with his eyes open. What I didn’t know is that he would be so good at operating therein. In less than a day, Hogg scared Ingraham’s sponsors so badly that she was frightened into a hapless apology (note to Laura: Holy Thursday did not make you what you are) that nobody believed, and that Hogg, god bless him, declined publicly. (If the Democratic party had more people with this attitude toward the flying monkeys of modern conservatism, we’d all be better off.) This is just tremendous.”
