Twitter brings Elon Musk's genius reputation crashing down to earth

I personally think that Musk is overrated and the fact that he is flopping amuses me. I remember when Musk as a "joke" announced that he was taking Tesla private and then got sued by the SEC. Musk has been under a consent decree with the SEC while he was fighting the twitter fight. I remember when Musk told the SEC that he wanted the consent decree lifted because it was hurting his lawsuit in the twitter dispute. The SEC ignored Musk' request The offer for twitter was stupid and Musk negotiated a horrible merger agreement that waived due diligence and was enforceable by specific performance.

Musk is violating a number of injunctions and consent decrees that will hurt twitter and musk

“Historically he’s been a pendulum between genius and reckless,” said Gene Munster, managing partner at Loup Ventures. “He’s on reckless right now. He’s way over recklessness.”

He added, “It leaves people to view him … as slightly less of a genius.”.....

The driving team behind Project Eraser — which carries out functions such as deleting the user data of those who ask, part of compliance with federal requirements — has been gutted. Musk has brought in a new roster of leaders, many who are loyalists.

When one executive met with Musk and voiced concerns about the Federal Trade Commission’s consent decree, Musk assured that person there was nothing to worry about. He said Tesla had plenty of experience on privacy matters, and pointed to his deep knowledge and awareness of the constraints Twitter was under.

Minutes after the meeting concluded, a subordinate of Musk emailed: Would the executive be willing to send over a copy of the consent decree they had just discussed?.....

But analysts have pointed to problems more specific to Tesla and concern with Musk’s time at Twitter, suggesting in essence that the sheen has worn off a company whose value was not rooted in its fundamentals.

“I felt for a while he was given a pass,” said Karl Brauer, executive analyst at the website iSeeCars. “‘Oh, it’s Elon. He’s Midas: If he’s touching it, it’s going to be successful.’ Now a certain number of people have stopped giving him a pass on things that probably should have been looked at a little more critically or acknowledged as potential downside.”

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has had a busy week.

On Monday, she got into a Twitter spat with fellow far-right Rep. Lauren Boebert over the Colorado congresswoman's criticism of Greene's past belief in "Jewish space lasers." On Tuesday, she penned a lengthy Twitter thread on her support for Kevin McCarthy to be Speaker of the House, later following it up with an op-ed in the Daily Caller on the same topic on Wednesday.

She accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of being the US's "shadow president" and skipped his historic address at the Capitol on Wednesday, later posting an image of a Capitol rioter edited to look like the Ukrainian leader carrying a stack of dollars.

On Thursday, she finalized her divorce with her now ex-husband, Perry Greene.

'Hillary Clinton was right all along' about Donald Trump: MSNBC's Mika

Hillary was right about everything

Donald Trump has been fighting the release of his tax returns since he first positioned himself as a presidential candidate, and MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski said their long-awaited disclosure proves he was always lying about them.

Trump claimed the returns couldn't be released during his 2016 campaign -- and throughout his presidency -- because they were under audit, but the House Ways and Means Committee concluded the IRS failed to audit his taxes, as required under a mandatory presidential program, for the first two years of his term and did not complete any of them.

"It proves that Hillary Clinton, was right all along," Brzezinski said. "Nancy Pelosi was right all along, Chuck Schumer was right all along. The Democrats were right all along. Reporting from the New York Times was right all along, Washington Post, too, was 100 percent correct all along. Donald Trump was not under audit. Donald Trump was lying. He was desperate to hide the truth from Americans."

"That truth, that far from being a shrewd businessman, he was, in fact, the biggest loser out of the 300 million Americans who filed their taxes with the IRS," she added. "The man lost more money than any other American, at a time when he was writing "The Art of the Deal," this was happening, and worse than that, the fact his own Treasury Department under the bumbling hands of Steve Mnuchin refused to audit the president after Trump got into the White House -- that's usually done. So that lie continued and continued and continued until last night."
