senseandsensibility's JournalWhat's your wish for the Democratic Party for 2024?
What is the most important (and achievable) goal the party can set for itself as election season ramps up?
I have some thoughts, but I'll spare you. Really interested in what others think
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
Very good point on twitter about Haley
Nikki Haley answered the question about the Civil War the way a public school teacher in FLA would have to answer it to remain employed.
Think about that. I know how people feel about linking to twitter, and I don't have an account, but the poster is Jeff @BeastQuake. I think he has a good point, don't you? Something that even rightwingers are freaking out about is being forced on school children by another candidate in the race. And he criticizes her?
Not that I have any use for her, obviously.
Let's stop for a moment and consider the sheer discordance
of the corporate media's narrative as we head into the 2024 election. Rs can ship migrants to blue states, refuse to negotiate in good faith on immigration, and use racial slurs to smear immigrants, then blame the mess on Biden.
Rs can refuse to admit that the economy is strong no matter what the statistics show and fill the airwaves with doom and gloom. Biden then gets the blame for a "bad" economy no matter what the facts say.
Cheato can be facing 91 felony charges, and guilty verdicts in civil cases, and that is somehow "helping" him. This narrative is a particular favorite of the corporate media. Repeating it multiple times every time his legal cases are mentioned, sometimes to the exclusion of the actual evidence, is a form of propaganda.
Biden can sometimes stutter or speak softly and walk with a stiff gate and it means he is too old. Cheato can demonstrate real signs of dementia and he is forceful amd strong.
I'm sure I've left some out, but the corporate media is making sure that we have a very rough road ahead. The first step to countering that is recognizing and neutralizing that narrative.
Supreme Court caves! Will not hear immunity claim!
@@%%$$!!!!! Looks like some of you were right! Just now on CNN and MSNBC.
Remember the Silent Majority?
That's what repukes called themselves during the Nixon years.
Well, in 2023 Dems really are the Silent Majority. Our views and "feelings" are never discussed in the corporate media. But the magats must be coddled and listened to all day long. Their fee-fees reign supreme, even on CNN and MSNBC. Seriously. Listen to cable for a couple of hours if you can stomach it. You will not hear one reference to how Dem voters are feeling about Cheato's court cases or the CO decision or anything else. It's like we don't exist.
I just read on DU that the majority of the voters approve of the Colorado decision by the way. I guarantee that will not be mentioned anywhere. But we will hear endlessly about repuke voters' anger and how it's good for Cheato.
All I can say is the real Silent Majority better get out and vote in 2024. Don't let them make you feel powerless. The majority is never powerless, but it is threatening to the powers that be.
RFK Jr. is now admitting that he traffics in conspiracy theories to
convert voters. How's that for a real American stand up guy? Just wants the best for the people.
Cheato asks Supreme Court to stay out of immunity dispute for now
Surprise! Cheato wants more delay. Will the Supreme Court oblige?
He's also urging them to consider the Colorado case immediately.
I guess we will see how willing the Court is to subject themselves to this fool. It will all become clear shortly. If they are willing to delay this immunity decision, it is a very bad sign.
Breaking on CNN.
I have no illusions about Joe Biden
He is an experienced, knowledgeable, moral man who I trust to do the right thing. Unfortunately, he is not dynamic. He does not have a strong on camera presence. He is not a compelling speaker to most people in today's fast paced media environment. That's just the truth.
And, in case you haven't noticed, the media is not going to give him any breaks.
So he needs all Democrats to hit the airwaves and the internet in support. It should be all hands on deck. It's not just his campaign manager, or his staff. Of course they should come out swinging, and I think they have started to.
It's the entire party. All elected Dem leaders need to be on the same page. Even rank and file Dems like us on DU can play a role.
I'm willing, are you?
So WTF is wrong with him?
Now that Rudy has been proven to be a malicious liar in court (we already knew that of course), what in the flying %$$$# caused him to throw everything away?
Seriously, I have no idea. Senility, mental illness, substance abuse, or just mendaciousness?
The other night I heard Anderson Cooper say that Rudy would be found dead in a hotel room with an empty bottle of bourbon. I couldn't believe he would say that on the air. Is it a known fact that he is an alcoholic?
I'm glad that justice prevailed whatever the cause.
Vivek!!!!
CNN is insisting on showing R townhalls with no pushback night after night. Tonight, it's the crowd favorite, Vivek.
Or, as I read on twitter, the beatings will continue until morale improves. Anyone know what their ratings are for these things?
