BainGate: Martha Stewart went to prison for lying to SEC

"At a news conference announcing the charges against Ms. Stewart, James B. Comey, the United States attorney for the Southern District of New York, said, ''This criminal case is about lying -- lying to the F.B.I., lying to the S.E.C., lying to investors.'' Addressing a question that has long hovered over the investigation, he added, ''Martha Stewart is being prosecuted not for who she is, but because of what she did.''

Elizabeth Edwards' grave now marked with a marble footstone, 19 months after her death

http://www.startribune.com/nation/161852175.html

RALEIGH, N.C. - Nineteen months after her death, a permanent marker has been placed on the grave of Elizabeth Edwards, the wife of two-time Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards.

A modest marble footstone was installed last week at Raleigh's Oakwood Cemetery. It was commissioned by Elizabeth Edwards' siblings and is carved with lyrics from a Leonard Cohen song she placed on her kitchen wall shortly before she died of cancer in December 2010.

A more elaborate headstone is still planned from the same sculptor who chiseled the towering angel adorning the neighboring grave of Edwards' 16-year-old son Wade, who died in a 1996 auto accident.

The Associated Press reported last month that people touring the historic cemetery had expressed concern that Edwards did not yet have a stone so long after her death.

P.S. I did some searching to find which Cohen lyrics so inspired her: From “Anthem”:

“Ring the bells that still can ring. Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.”

I don't believe in spiking the football.....

.....the Touchdown Dance is much better!!.

Take THAT Rush Limbaugh. Wish they were dancing on your head.
"Defying the House speaker’s call for restraint, the conservative radio host encouraged his listeners on Friday to “spike the football” if the Supreme Court strikes down all or part of President Barack Obama’s health care law."

want more good news ?

Bachmann's days may be numbered. This poll is significant because her opponant is new to politics, has no name recognition (quick, who is running against Bachmann?) yet is only behind by 5 points. He is just beginning to get his name and face out there, I think he's got a good shot. Jim Graves http://jimgraves.com/
Here's the poll:

Michele Bachmann Vulnerable to Defeat in 2012

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 26, 2012. Washington, D.C.

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s unsuccessful bid for president had a clear and negative impact on her standing among voters in the new Minnesota 6th CD. She receives low marks on both her job performance and personal favorability. While she is well-defined and almost universally known, her support is below 50 percent in a two-way contest for U.S. Congress. Her weaker standing leaves her vulnerable to defeat in this November’s election against businessman Jim Graves.

A poll of 505 likely voters in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District shows that Bachmann comes to the 2012 elections with poor standing with voters in the district. Reactions to her are strongly negative, with 51 percent of voters giving her a cool, negative rating and just 35 percent giving her a warm, positive rating.

The race for U.S. Congress reflects her weakness, with Bachmann under 50 percent and leading by only 5 points (48 - 43 percent, with 9 percent undecided).

Candy Crowley twin in a lab coat

looking very concerned and doctor-like in a TV ad just now, bashing healthcare reform. What the hell is this? Paid for by "Concerned women for America" looked it up: Seems they just bought $6 million of ad time.

"Concerned Women for America (CWA) is the nation's largest public policy women's organization with a rich 30-year history of helping our members across the country bring Biblical principles into all levels of public policy. There's a cultural battle raging across this country and CWA is on the frontline protecting those values through prayer and action."
