After his exit from the US Senate, Phil Gramm found a job at Swiss bank UBS as vice chairman. He later brought on former President Bill Clinton. What a coincidence, they are the two key figures in repealing Glass-Steagal. Since the New Deal it was the financial regulation that protected the US taxpayer from the Wall Street casino. Oh well, what's a $16 trillion bailout among friends?
It's a Buy-Partisan Who's Who:
President William J. Clinton
President George W. Bush Heh heh heh.
Robert J. McCann
John V. Miller
Paula D. Polito
One of my attorney chums doesn't like to see his name on any committees, event letterhead or political campaign literature. These folks, it seems to me, are past caring.
Some of why DUers and ALL voters should care about Phil Gramm.
The fact the nation's "news media" don't should also be of great concern.
PNAC and the Bilderbergers:
Both Bilderberg and PNAC ideologies are versions of real politik. Their main proponents such as PNAC cofounder William Kristol and Bilderberg codirector David Rockefeller subscribe to the use of power, manipulation, and deception to attain their ends. "We are on the verge of a global transformation," said David Rockefeller on September 23, 1994. "All we need is a the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order." Such a willingness to turn a national crisis to political advantage is reminiscent of the Bush administrations (sic) use of the 9/11 attacks as a pretext for invading Iraq. It is also markedly akin to the PNAC's chillingly prophetic statement, made one year prior to the 9/11 attacks, that "the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event -- like a new Pearl Harbor."
Philosophically, the replacement of PNAC with Bilderberg as the ruling ideology of the time may representative (sic) a Hegelian synthesis between a thesis (PNAC) and antithesis (Bilderberg). Unfortunately, this synthesis may be moving from a nationalistic culture of control to one of global proportions.

Like the Gulf of Tonkin, it's getting me down that no one remembers Eastasia.
Or that Ho Chi Minh served with the United States in the fight against Japan during World War II. During the Eisenhower years, the USA, for some rea$on, sided with the French colonialists in their claim against the North.

I think its time we held Sukarnos feet to the fire, said Frank Wisner, the CIAs Deputy Director of Plans (covert operations), one day in autumn 1956. Wisner was speaking of the man who had led Indonesia since its struggle for independence from the Dutch following the war. A few months earlier, in May, Sukarno had made an impassioned speech before the US Congress asking for more understanding of the problems and needs of developing nations like his own.
The ensuing American campaign to unseat the flamboyant leader of the fifth most populous nation in the world was to run the gamut from large-scale military maneuvers to seedy sexual intrigue.
The previous year, Sukarno had organized the Bandung Conference as an answer to the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO), the US-created political-military alliance of area states to contain communism. In the Indonesian city of Bandung, the doctrine of neutralism had been proclaimed as the faith of the underdeveloped world. To the men of the CIA station in Indonesia the conference was heresy, so much so that their thoughts turned toward assassination as a means of sabotaging it.
In 1975, the Senate committee which was investigating the CIA heard testimony that Agency officers stationed in an East Asian country had suggested that an East Asian leader be assassinated to disrupt an impending Communist [sic] Conference in 1955. (In all likelihood, the leader referred to was either Sukarno or Chou En-lai of China.) But, said the committee, cooler heads prevailed at CIA headquarters in Washington and the suggestion was firmly rejected.
Things really changed in 1964.
It's fun to miss a week now and then. It's surprising to see how much news happens that is literally earth shaking every few days.
In 5 billion years, the expansion of the universe will have progressed to the point where all other galaxies will have receded beyond detection. Indeed, they will be receding faster than the speed of light, so detection will be impossible. Future civilizations will discover science and all its laws, and never know about other galaxies or the cosmic background radiation. They will inevitably come to the wrong conclusion about the universe......We live in a special time, the only time, where we can observationally verify that we live in a special time.
Wonder what all else has already slipped out of view?
Interesting times, ours, Judi Lynn. Uniquely ours, too. Honored and happy to get to share it with you.
Neoliberal. Neoconservative. Doesn't make a bit of difference. Money trumps peace.
Ask Leo Strauss.
That truth? That seemed absolutely fulsome, especially compared to the vaporware word of George W Bush and Richard Cheney, given with each other's presence, and not under oath. That truth stinks of wholesale treason. Ask Cass Sunstein.
Rather than let everything JFK, MLK, RFK and the Wellstone Wing of the Democratic Party destroyed, I am proud to write that more than a brave handful have stepped forward. People who don't see that smear me as a "Conspiracy Theorist" and what not. So, I'm in good company.
Thank you for the narrative triad. It's why musicians love trios -- the conversation can get somewhere.
