Small favors.
And whatever happened with all of those loan payments?
The 45th president was chained to money-losing real estate and drowning in debt when he left office. Now, magically, he is flush with cash and free to deal thanks to a little help from powerful friends.

Trumps business still has plenty of debtan estimated $1.1 billion in allbut now most of it doesnt come due until 2028 or later. Two loans that havent been refinanceda $13 million mortgage against a property on Third Avenue in Manhattan and a $45 million loan against a tower in Chicagomature in 2024. But neither of those should be too difficult to pay back. After all, Trump now has an estimated $375 million in cash on hand, more than three times the sum he had at any point during his presidency, thanks to the spate of dealmaking.
🤦
Shame on CNN. KJP's response was spot on.
It's actually a good thing she didn't bother to mention tfg, but someone in the thread (bless 'em) posted a 2019 NYT photo of him doing exactly the same thing: giving a speech with two flanking Marines standing behind him.

Note the topic. 🙄 Also featured: Tabasco, flip-flops, and a cowboy hat. WTF was this - an audition for HSN?
You're right to bring up the concerns of our allies. (Five Eyes)
Ours is not the only intelligence that has been affected by this monster, bet on it. They're giving us time to handle it, but even if the general public doesn't hear about it, there will come a time when those allies bring pressure to bear: deal with this situation, and make it stick or we will never trust you again.
That's untenable. As good as our intelligence people are, they need foreign contacts. Not, just assets, but peers in other agencies abroad. The concern about letting tfg off the hook is real, but this time around I don't think there is any way possible way to let him skate, even as a former president. Our allies will not stand for it, nor should they.
Looked up vaccination info because I wondered how long they last.
Can I get the measles if I've already been vaccinated?
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/measles/expert-answers/getting-measles-after-vaccination/faq-20125397
Possible, but very unlikely.
(also has info on vaccination schedules, etc)
How Long Do Vaccines Last?
https://www.science.org/content/article/how-long-do-vaccines-last-surprising-answers-may-help-protect-people-longer
Measles vaccinations are considered to be good for a lifetime.
(lots of info on vaccination in general, how long other vaccinations last)
SMH. 🤦

However, this is interesting:

Regardless of Kemp and other hardliners, some Republicans are coming around. Just a bit. As much as they despise Democratic methods of dealing with the issue, some of them are realizing that they just are not getting the job done as things stand, and something has to give.
"Georgia never expanded Medicaid"
I see red every time this comes up. Kemp keeps trying for a stingy partial expansion tied to work requirements.
It drives me crazy. It's selfish and punitive, it's racist, it's a politically motivated "own the libs" tactic that causes needless suffering. Why are states even allowed to turn this money down?
Apologies for the link blizzard, but in case anyone is curious it'll save some time:

Thank you for your rant, NowISeetheLight. I'm right there in the pissed off line with you. 💙
And there is the $1,000,000 question:
Were the documents properly signed out, and if not, who initiated a bypass in protocol and who aided and abetted that bypass in protocol for document handling?
Oof. It's an important distinction.
In fairness, I think this was true before DeSantis. But its far worse now. Trump is a would-be authoritarian because hes a malignant narcissist and career criminal who requires absolute power to avoid accountability. DeSantis is *conventionally* fascist.

DeSantis has officially turned Florida into a global embarrassment
A United Nations committee released a report voicing concerns about racist discrimination facilitated by Florida's anti-protest law, House Bill 1.

Thanks for posting this, highplainsdem. The article that goes with it is devastating.

With signals intelligence, or SIGINT, knowledge of the very fact that certain information is known by the United States could lead a foreign actor to change their communication habits in a way that would lead to them going dark, or having their communications inaccessible by US authorities. It could also lead the foreign actor to feed disinformation to the US by continuing to use the communications method that is known to be under surveillance by American intelligence agencies. [snip]
(example involving a decades-long operation to tap Russian communications cables, compromised by disgruntled ex-NSA employee Ronald Pelton)
If you ratchet it back 30,000 feet, it could also reveal to people that we don't want to know that they've been targeted, that they're targeted, and you could end up with very bad actors in the world who did not know that NSA was up in their email suddenly, being aware of that and changing the way they're doing business, changing their pattern of communication, their pattern of life, he said.
He explained that a foreign spy who got wind of Mr Trumps document cache which the government has suggested contained information including raw signals intelligence could have gleaned exploits and backdoors into intelligence into communications platforms that are kind of the Holy of Holies in the COMMINT (communications intelligence) world. [more]
I saw a tweet discussing the same list but the OP stopped at TK,
refusing to explain it. Now it makes sense as to why. This is spy satellite shit. Dayum.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sensitive_compartmented_information#Control_systems
TK covers space-based IMINT (Imagery intelligence), SIGINT (Signals intelligence), and MASINT (Measurement and signature intelligence) collection platforms; related processing and analysis techniques; and research, design, and operation of these platforms (but see Reserve below).[15] The original TALENT compartment was created in the mid-1950s for the U-2. In 1960, it was broadened to cover all national aerial reconnaissance (to later include SR-71 sourced imagery) and the KEYHOLE compartment was created for satellite intelligence.[16] TALENT KEYHOLE is now a top-level control system; KEYHOLE is no longer a distinct compartment. Known compartments include RUFF (IMINT satellites), ZARF (ELINT satellites), and CHESS (U-2).[17] The KEYHOLE series KH-1 through KH-4b were part of the new TALENT-KEYHOLE designation.[18]
