Get your Wednesday Dance on…

EWF - September

Do you remember the 21st night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away
Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away
Ba de ya, say do you remember
Ba de ya, dancing in September
Ba de ya, never was a cloudy day
My thoughts are with you
Holding hands with your heart to see you
Only blue talk and love,
Remember how we knew love was here to stay
Now December found the love that we shared in September.
Only blue talk and love,
Remember the true love we share today
Ba de ya, say do you remember
Ba de ya, dancing in September
Ba de ya, never was a cloudy day
Ba de ya, say do you remember
Ba de ya, dancing in September
Ba de ya, golden dreams were shiny days
Ba de ya de ya de ya
Ba de ya de ya de ya
Ba de ya de ya de ya de ya
Ba de ya de ya de ya
Ba de ya de ya de ya
Ba de ya de ya de ya de ya

Another in a long list of indications that I'm living in Republican hell…

Michigan Republican Doesn’t Know How Condoms Work, Thinks Sex Ed Is A Ploy To Cause Unwanted Pregnancies

Just when you thought Republicans couldn’t get any more stupid, this former high school teacher steps up to the plate.

As any person with common sense knows, condoms are used to prevent pregnancy, especially when combined with female contraception or spermicide. In other words, no unwanted or unplanned pregnancies equal no abortions.

But a Michigan Republican thinks comprehensive sex education is a scheme by Planned Parenthood to cause more unwanted pregnancies so that they can profit more from abortions, which only account for a measly three percent of the total services offered by the health organization.

Michigan state GOP Rep. Tom Hooker is one the dupes who actually belief the heavily edited Planned Parenthood videos are totally real and not faked at all, so he thinks allowing Planned Parenthood to offer sex education in schools should be banned in favor of the failed conservative policy known as “abstinence only” education. He also claims it’s a conflict of interest for Planned Parenthood to offer abortion services while selling male and female contraception at the same time.

“There’s a perverse incentive for an organization like Planned Parenthood to get into the sex education business. It’s a conflict in that they give out or sell condoms, they offer pregnancy tests and (sexually-transmitted disease) testing and, obviously, if they’re pregnant they then would offer an abortion. It just seems like an awfully comfortable arrangement for Planned Parenthood to teach sex education.”

These people are morons, and they're running the state.

Republicans exploit another child for political purposes

Meet 13 year old Coreco (CJ) JaQuan Pearson, junior grade Georgia political activist, media darling and another in a series of pawns of right wing Republican politics.

From the Peach Pundit blog:

What’s Up with CJ Pearson?
JULY 8, 2015 8:30 AM

Over the last six months, CJ Pearson became a social media star. The twelve year old from Grovetown, Georgia volunteered on several Republican campaigns during the 2014 cycle, including that of State School Superintendent Richard Woods. After the election, CJ formed Young Georgians in Government with the goal of passing legislation that would permit state representatives as young as 18 years old.

In February, Pearson uploaded a video to YouTube entitled President Obama: Do You Really Love America. That video as received almost 2 million views, and became the tipping point for CJ’s fame. The video led to TV appearances on Fox News and other broadcast media. He created a Facebook fan page that now has over 42,000 followers. In April, the domain cjpearson.org was registered and went live. And in early June, Pearson signed a contract with DBC Management Company of Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin to participate in a planned Rally Millennials tour set for 2016 to promote Republican presidential candidates.

Everything seemed to be going well for CJ until Thursday evening, July 2nd. That evening, CJ got into an argument on Twitter with a user named @MonaB2010, who tweeted under the name Mona Hussein Obama. And that’s when things got weird.

Friday morning, Pearson posted this on his Facebook page:

Turns out that our pint-sized propagandist here is also a mouth piece for a right-wing media company called, Vice And Victory, the kid's email account is sourced from a public relations firm: http://www.trievadgroup.com/about-us.html

Plus, rather than being the self-motivated, right wing rabble rouser that the right wing makes him out to be, turns out that he's a readily available and well connected political prop in brown face, just when you need a photo-op or some face-time on Fox News of someone who'll happily tell the knuckle-draggers about how un-American the President is, or whenever they need someone to spout off some other reactionary nonsense:

I serious doubt that he's paying for all of this access to the press and his overall digital footprint out of his lemonade stand investment account.

What's obvious here is that he's part of any number of long running scams that the love to use to make themselves out to be victims. In his case his bones were made after a sort leaked out that his Facebook page was blocked simply because he came out against President Obama.

That turned out to be false, of course. His FB page was blocked was because he lied about his age in order to get a personal account and he had, in fact, violated the terms of service by doing that. He was underaged at the time:

Facebook itself provided the answer to why CJ Pearson's account was suspended: at 12 years old, the boy had falsified his age in his Facebook profile and did not meet Facebook's terms and conditions which require all users to be 13 or older. Once Pearson drew attention to himself (and his real age), it was clear his account was in violation of Facebook's stated rules and was therefore suspended.

Shortly afterwards CJ Pearson's Facebook page was restored, but instead of being the personal page of an underage boy, it was reclassified as a Public Figure page. Presumably this could not have been done without Facebook's cooperation and was undertaken to get around the age restriction that prompted the page's original removal.

About his parents: I couldn't find any readily available info on who they even are. The kid claims that his parents are life long Democrats, ones who just happen to support his work with several Republican PR firms and political campaigns, of course. What's funny about this is that the management firm mentioned before actually fired the kid for perpetrating several frauds: http://www.peachpundit.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/CJ-Pearson-Letter-Redacted.pdf

I really can't blame right wingers for falling prey to all of the pandering and lies that this kid seems to have gotten himself involved in. After all, we're talking about Republicans, that's what they do: http://www.peachpundit.com/2015/07/08/whats-up-with-cj-pearson/

But what's funny here is all of the people who swear that this kid is "telling it like it is," when it's clear as day that he's doing nothing more than reading off some right wing PR company's script.

If Republicans want this misguided pawn of a kid, they can have him. But let's not pretend that he's nothing more than some kid who's being exploited by our warped political system. Not just that, but he's not the first one either:

It was kind of interesting at the supermarket today…
