and even _I_ knew Reagan's economic policies would be a disaster. I said he was going to take us back to where the US was before the Great Depression. I've hated that man my entire adult life!

He started his campaign in Philadelphia, Mississippi, where those three Civil Rights workers were murdered sending his States Rights message to the South - and then there was Iran-Contra for which he faced no consequences. Since Jimmy Carter was the first candidate who I really liked and followed, I also have a lifelong resentment against Reagan.

Supply follows demand. I was arguing with friends and workmates about this in the 80's. Everybody thought they were getting big tax cuts. Many of the little guy's deductions were eliminated.
