One can only hope at least some of her voters will now disabuse themselves of the notion that she was "a real alternative to Trump."

Much more powerful than many would like to admit. Many, many people will vote for *any* Republican, regardless of that person's transgressions and lack of ethics. They truly believe that any Republican is better than the best Democrat.

That's why I think the endless threads about how Haley voters are going to bail on Trump en masse in November are almost certainly little more than wishful thinking. When the day arrives, the vast majority of them will vote for Trump. We have to assume so and ensure that we outvote them.

9. Well said. Too few follow the news in any detail, nor do they realize than on most issues TFG is the opposite of Reagan

Reagan was pro-immigration, was extremely tough on Gorbachev's Russia and, along with the other living former presidents (Carter and Ford) publicly supported President Clinton's efforts to pass the Assault Weapons Ban. This is not "the party of Reagan" - nor any previous Republican in history - the Republican party is now completely the party of TFG, no resemblance to the "small government" party that Republicans used to support.
