My concern about this is the point where the whole conviction rests on the deliberations of the jury. jaxexpat May 6 #1
You're certainly right, we know that many Republicans in Congress were afraid to vote "yes" in TFG's impeachment Rhiannon12866 May 6 #2

We live in a society wherein corruption via obfuscation is an expected and accepted facet of the justice system. When well-healed felons' appeal of any guilty verdict is a given, there is no conclusiveness in the proceedings. So then, where and why would there be 12 citizens willing to unanimously vote to convict a dangerous and potentially very powerful, no matter how pathetic, criminal? One who may have unchallenged authority and with the special new, one off, USSC granted immunity from all legal consequences, the power to reach into your little juror life and wring all the fun out of it?

My concern? Why the long face? In the minds of the MAGA public and, it should be assumed, the minds of the illusive un-committed voter, if Trump escapes on this, his ONLY pre-election trial, he is innocent or at least "canny" enough to get around anything. So, what a wheeler-dealer fellow, right? Perfect guy for the oval office gig, right?

I mostly lay the blame for all the, "this case is nothing, really", shit on Jonathan Turley for single-handedly misguiding the most, marginally informed citizens into Trump's camp. He's been at it for years already and he does kid's birthdays, with pony rides, and weddings, too. Just google him at 'traitormommaneedsanewdress.com', "TeeVee face, obviously cleverest guy in the room", for sale or lease to highest bidder. Rates will damn sure vary during peak election cycle moments of perceptual criticality.

Since they and their families received threats. How many Democrats who speak out, like Eric Swalwell, need to hire security due to the constant threats? And we know that one jury member already quit because she was pretty much identified on Fox and began receiving calls from those who knew she was. And we know that TFG will appeal anything, no matter how small or ridiculous, in order to cause another delay.

And I remember Jonathan Turley. He used to be on regular news, but when we've seen clips of Fox on "regular" news shows, there he is. The first time I did a double-take.
