Before Floridas six week ban went into effect last week, Florida was one of the last places in the southeast United States where a person could get an abortion at all. Now, depending on how advanced their pregnancy is, a person seeking an abortion will have to travel as far as Kansas or Virginia to get the care they need.
But law professor and historian Mary Ziegler warns that the anti-abortion movement aims for sweeping, nationwide bans. The ultimate goal for the anti abortion movement is to have the conservative US supreme court say essentially that fetuses are persons under the 14th amendment in the federal constitution says Ziegler. - Aired on 05/04/2024.

(207,790 posts)Both Putin and Kim Jong-Un, who he has also said he "loves." Murder of their own citizens is nothing to them. And given his lack of understanding of government, laws and the Constitution, what's to prevent him from adopting their policies, advocating for Putin's plan to recreate the USSR or giving them power on our own soil??

(207,790 posts)I'm listening to Liz Cheney's book in my car and he refused to listen to anyone who told him he lost. He was told by fellow Republicans, received a memo from retired Republican officials and he commissioned numerous investigations into the election which all told him he lost. And every court challenge he tried was dismissed. So instead of accepting the obvious, he continued to make public statements that he "won by a landslide." And the deluded believed him and came to the Capitol on January 6th to fight for him as he asked.
