Who was extremely tough on Russia, supported immigration and joined all the former presidents at the time to get Clinton's Assault Weapons Ban passed.

Cults of personality dont really have much logic to them. A lot of his supporters also supported Obama -and even Bernie(people who have absolutely nothing in common with Trump policy-wise at all)
