I don't care about anything but beating Trump.

This is no time for progressive puritanism.

Our entire democracy is at risk.

We have a president who wants to throw out the U.S. Constitution and install a fascist dictatorship.

Don't doubt it for a second.

I don't yet know who I will vote for in the Florida Democratic primary, but it will be for whoever at the time looks like they are most likely to beat Trump.

That is literally all I care about.

primary today, I would vote for:

The priority is to dump tRump ASAP.

So, we end up waiting for the election to do it or -- ?

Voting the ticket is the only way out of this corrupt fiasco we find ourselves in.

I always vote the ticket whether I like all of the candidates or not.

No ifs, ands or buts about it!

Now is not the time to be choosy!

Anyone BUT another puke destroying America!

Just VOTE DEMOCRATIC !!

Trump is a symptom not a cause. If he is voted out, we will only get a temporary reprieve as our country continues to unravel. I'm only looking at candidates who have ideas for how to resolve the dangerous divisions in our society. Not coincidentally, I believe those candidates will have the best chance of beating Trump.

I feel the only way to beat an SOB is with an SOB. Biden is our SOB. Trump may throw the first punch, but Joe is able to punch back harder.

If the election was for an open seat, I most likely would support someone else.

Substitute Trump with Bush and you have the entire thought process of the 2004 primaries. ABB. Anyone But Bush. That worked out great for us in 2004.

It's that there are a lot of people in the media, politics, wealthy, that *love* the benefits of trump. These are in addition to the maga idiots that are the gop cannon fodder.

Which means that there is a very high chance of another far right dictator gaining power unless we fix the current *system* that allows someone like trump to become president.

We cannot simply treat the symptom and fix the disease.

about poverty, if you care about healthcare, if you care about America's standing in the world, if you care about how we treat our neighbors and desperate people who need help, if you care about our democracy, if you care about treating people equally whether they are male or female, black, brown or white, or gay or straight, if you care about the importance of education and science, if you care about the truth and a media that is free to call out the lies and corrupt actions of the worst president of all time.

The list goes on, but these are the values of Democrats. They should be the values of Republicans, but their continued support for Trump shows they have no values.

We have to defeat trump. There is a very good chance that trump will win if we pick a weak or unsafe choice. There are posters who believe that we can nominate the most liberal/socialist nominee as possible and that candidate will easily win because everyone hates trump. It is their position that this is a historic opportunity to nominate someone would otherwise not be electable.

From Larry Sabato https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-economy-got-nixon-reagan-and-bush-reelected-it-could-do-it-for-trump-too/2019/04/23/b8920d34-65e6-11e9-a1b6-b29b90efa879_story.html?utm_term=.a35b315730d2

Ultimately, Trump may turn out to be at the mercy of conventional factors. In 2016, academic predictive models based on fundamentals such as the state of the economy suggested that Trump, or any other Republican candidate, was in position to win the election or come very close. This time, such models (once they become operative next year) could make Trump the early favorite despite his poor approval ratings.

Credit the powers of incumbency and a strong economy, the state of which may matter more to Trump’s odds than nearly anything else. Incumbency and the economy, among other matters, ended up being more than enough for Nixon, Reagan and Bush. Despite Trump’s unprecedented outlandishness, that same combination might work for him, too.

Most POTUS are re-elected if the economy is good. Here is a scary study that shows this

There are good reasons to doubt this study

I do not believe that trump is assured of winning. If we want to win, Democrats need to nominate a strong nominee who is NOT too far out of the mainstream

primary today, I would vote for:
