(115,690 posts)is when to do it, and how. The consensus for most seems to be to immediately commence public hearings on the material in the Mueller report as well as financial matters that Mueller didn't address, and then file articles of impeachment based on those hearings.

(4,377 posts)What would we actually achieve by spending vast political capital on impeachment right now? The pukes hold the senate, so there is zero chance of it succeeding (unless investigations turn up some absolutely cast iron evidence that even the Republicans can't ignore).
I think every one of us would love to see the asshole in chief out of office and in an orange jumpsuit, but we have to be logical about the pros and cons of pushing an impeachment process that will almost certainly fail. It would embarrass him, but it would also help fuel his witch-hunt bullshit, and to a lot of people out who don't follow politics, if impeachment failed then they'd just see it as him being exonerated. That could seriously hurt us in the election.
