12. Two of the chains in the Minneapolis are (Cub & Kowalski's)

has raised worker's pay by $2.00/hour. Both these chains are union so they would have contracts that set the wage. I am impressed that both companies are apparently going beyond the contract requirements.

I have not heard if any of the other area grocery stores are following suit. Cub is the largest chain in the area; Kowalski's is more "high end". Both may be in better situations to do this.

Though it will have to wait until President Joe is in the White House and this virus has been tamed. I fear that many smaller restaurants will go under during this crisis. I have an Asian restaurant near me that is doing takeout only. On what would once have been a busy night, I was one of two people getting takeout. The restaurant put at least a third more food in my order, I think as a thank you and because they have an excess. Their future may be grim.

17. I hate the 15 dollar minimum wage proposal that keeps getting put out there.

Don't get me wrong, I fully believe that the majority of employers pay far to little but a 15 dollar minimum wage will get eaten up soon due to inflation and companies simply raising the price of their goods so we need to take a different approach.
My personal favorite is to raise companies with more than 100 people (and franchises like McDonalds count as corporate employees) taxes to 95% and then linking any reduction to their employees wages by making it so the more employees (those 18 and older) that they have that earn 400% over the federal minimum wage the lower their taxes.
So the companies get progressively lower and lower taxes (lowest would be 1%) but to get that low they need to have a 99% of their employees earning that 400%.
So why linking it to the official federal poverty level? Because as we have seen with Congress they can and have become corrupted due to corporate money and thus they will block raises for years if not decades for the federal minimum wage.
