Former DNC chair Ed Rendell predicts Biden will clinch nomination after Tuesday’s primaries

Former Democratic National Committee chairman Ed Rendell predicted that Joe Biden could wrap up the presidential nomination after Tuesday’s primary elections, barring any surprises during Sunday’s debate with Sen. Bernie Sanders.

“It looks like the nomination will be virtually clinched after next Tuesday. Unless something dramatic happens in that debate Sunday night … the race for the nomination would be effectively over next Tuesday night, regardless of whether Sanders suspends his campaign or keeps it going until the convention,” Rendell, the former governor of Pennsylvania, told host John Catsimatidis on his AM-970 radio show “The Cats Roundtable” in an interview that aired Sunday.

Bernie's come out on the short end. I don't see him having the fire in his belly to continue in a quest that he knows will end in defeat.

7. According to the forecasts, Biden will win more than two-thirds of the delegates on Tuesday....

....and come out of the four states with 200 delegates more than Sanders. That would surge Biden to a 360+ delegate lead.

In other terms, Biden will need less than 50% of the remaining delegates to reach 1991, Sanders will need more 70% of the remaining delegates to reach 1991.

I.e., Sanders would need to win EACH of the remaining 26 primaries/caucuses with at least 70% of the vote. Inasmuch he hasn't won any of the previous 31 by that much - only five with more than 50% and only three with more than 60% (those three include his home state of Vermont and the delegate sparse Norther Marianas by 4-2!), it's virtually impossible for Sanders to ever get enough delegates to win the nomination.

This above article states Joe would have major delegate lead from the 4 states voting this Tuesday. Georgia is postponing, but theirs was not scheduled for this Tuesday, but the following one.

...Georgia was on the 24, a week from Tuesday, and Louisiana wasn't until April 4.

I truly hope common sense prevails and after Tuesday those involved realize that no more primaries would be necessary. The outcome has been determined, no sense putting people in danger by going through the motions.
