For fuck's sake. You may not like him but he hates Dump and has the money to defeat him.

(47,822 posts)With the prospect that Trump might actually win a second term, we become more concerned about our candidates and their ability to beat him in a general election. I've been inclined to see faults that I may have overlooked before.
That said, I still think our best candidates can beat him, but I assure you that I will have moments of doubt up and until November! The shock of Trump winning in 2016 will never go away.

(13,059 posts)HuffPost has been full of anti-Bloomberg articles lately. And Zerlina Maxwell, a top former aid of Hillary Clinton just bashed Bloomberg on MSNBC in no uncertain terms.
Additionally the Central Park Five, for me, I think is the deal breaker, Maxwell said, adding that He blocked their settlement for over a decade.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
I saw that as well. I think there is a whole lot about the man that many voters don't know yet.
Also it turns out that he spend $6 million to block the case regarding the compensation for the Central Park Five.

(8,144 posts)if we GOTV. Bloomberg is morally Trumps twin. People will sit home.
I hope Bloombergs unconstitutional campaign against Black and Latinx youth and Muslims, and his affinity for the worst Republicans, especially for Neo-Cons is shouted from the rooftops. Americans need to know.

for the serious mistreatment, bullying, harassment, criminalizing of black and Latinx children, some of whose lives were ruined, is a good thing. You prove that after our outcry against Trumps Muslim travel ban we should embrace a man who mounted an extensive spying and surveillance program against Muslins.
He will not win in the end and our party will be dirtied for years.
Good day.

(84 posts)Yes, I want Trump out, absolutely.
But, if that means replacing him with something just as evil & onerous, what's the point?
Changing the name of the top executive, without changing what he stands for, or will do for/with the country is useless.
If I'm being stuck in the side by a knife, and they switch to a ice pick, it hurts just as much.
It doesn't matter that the name of the tool has changed!
So, from here on out the country is going to be run by Billionaires, with policies that only benefit themselves,
and the 1%, well because they are the only ones who can battle each other in this environment? Who's next
when Bloomy goes rouge? He's the 8th richest guy. Need to get Bezos, Gates, or Buffet to run against him?
Where does it stop?
How about we all just vote for the person who has the policy, platform, and values, that are important to us, and
when that person gets the nomination we ALL stand behind them and beat Trump? Let's stop trying to play the
"electability" game, and just elect the person "We the people" want!

(45,806 posts)Stop & Frisk & Red lining. Even though Bloomie apologized for not stopping those programs sooner, Joy obviously doesn't think that's enough. I'm sure she speaks for a lot of black & brown people who were directly affected by those programs, but as time passes, if Bloomie becomes one of the top candidates, they will work out a solution.

(8,144 posts)To think such a man a man would be in charge of the American criminal justice system which is riddled with inequities now. Can it get worse? Yes!! He fancies himself a crime fighter. It will get
worse.
But it could get better. We have work to do.
Do not believe his apology. He stands by his failed and ugly policy. It comes straight out of his ugly
belief system, deeply entrenched.

(46,825 posts)If we hear for the first time something about Bloomberg during the General, swing-voters and independents may just decide to walk away. Especially if what they hear about Bloomberg makes them feel like his tactics are underhanded, and his character is not different than Trump's when it comes to race and misogyny. Might as well hear it now.
