Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumAre there any Hillary 2016 supporters who are Bernie 2020 supporters?
I am asking this question after reading a discussion Joy Reid tweeted. Do these Hillary 2016-Bernie 2020 people exist? If so, how common or uncommon are they?

(68,869 posts)kids were so excited about Sanders than...we all went down and voted. Later, we all voted for and worked for Hillary Clinton. I do not support Sen. Sanders in the 2020 primary neither do my kids. I would of course vote for him in a general.

Bernie supporters became Hillary supporters for the General Election. I do hear about some voting for Stein or Trump... but they were the minority, I think. If this question means people who were always for Hillary, and are now all in for Bernie, not so sure... also, there are so many choices now... I imagine the Bernie supporters might like Warren & the Hillary supporters might like Harris.

"The Liberal Case Against Bernie"
Let me clarify: Ive been a fan and supporter of Sanders ever since he was elected mayor of Burlington, Vermont, in 1981. I was honored to be asked to testify before him in Congress years ago, and I voted for him in the New York presidential primary in 2016. I did so, however, not because I imagined he might win the nomination, but because I hoped that a strong showing by Sanders would help wake up Hillary Clinton to the importance of addressing economic inequality, and also to honor his brave criticism of Israels occupation of the West Bank.
I was wrong. Sanders turned so negative toward Clinton that it hurt her in the general election. Even though he campaigned for her after he lost the nomination, roughly 12 percent of Sanderss supporters switched to Trump, and enough of the rest supported Jill Steins kamikaze candidacy that it helped tip key states to Trump.
I see he's into reality.

(28,270 posts)Big Hillary supporter in the primary through the convention and of course voted for her in the general along with my Bernie supporting wife.
Now we are both 100% committed to the nomination and election of Bernie Sanders as our next president!

(10,854 posts)I, too, would hold my nose and vote for Sanders because we are facing an existential threat with Trump's continuing non-governing, corrupt Administration.
That being said, that vote would be cast with little confidence and even less passion.

(10,854 posts)Btw, I'd have no problem voting for Inslee who happens to have the strongest and most clearly explained Climate Change and environmental tilt.
Trump is an existential political threat. Climate Change is an existential threat to the welfare of the planet and all inhabitants.
The Climate Change issue is worse than we think or admit. Inslee has the handle on that grim acknowledgement. He's a advocate we need in our corner.

(8,020 posts)There's not a chance in hell that I would support Sanders for the nomination. I belong to several groups that supported Hillary (Facebook, mostly) and I have seen only an extreme dislike for Sanders from the members. Okay, truth to tell, they despise him.
NOTE: This is in response to a question and is not meant as a bashing of him. Simply an honest answer.
