(314 posts)If Mayor Pete (62,000 pop.) in South Bend can run for president, why not this guy? The population of Miramar is 140,000.

If you wanted to compare the population of two different cities would you post their actual populations or reduce one by 47%?

(314 posts)TBTH, it takes a lot of chutzpah to run for president when you are the mayor of a midsize city. If Buttigieg can run for president, then so should Wayne Messam and Andrew Gillum. It plays into what Stacey Abrams has been saying: why can't a mayor of color from a midsize city get as much attention as the white mayor of South Bend, Indiana?
Also, now you know why Bill DeBlasio is making trips to New Hampshire, Iowa, and South Carolina. As the mayor of the largest city in the nation, he also has a message. I can't say I blame him for seeking out the possibility of a run.

(314 posts)Why are you making excuses?
You make it sound like they sit at home and do nothing all day.
Buttigieg is an impressive candidate, don't get me wrong. But don't put limitations on other politicians because they don't have the "power" of others.
