Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumBiden and Sanders supporters please stop sniping at each other.
It seems that every other post - almost irrespective of the issue - ends up with the Joe and Bernie supporters sniping at each other. It is not only not helpful to the chosen candidate, it is very off-putting. I am finding it more and more difficult to not ascribe the poor motives of posters to the candidate whose picture appears below the post.
We're all on the same team here. In due course, we will figure out who is going to captain the team. In the meanwhile, please stop tearing down the team.

(34,195 posts)I fear all these Democratic attacks against Democratic candidates
will be used by the GOP in their fall campaign to re-elect Trump.

I think maybe ALL attacks on fellow DEMS should be viewed as coming from the Russians.

(11,548 posts)My primary fear is that a slash-and-burn primary will leave a lot of hard feelings between Democrats. We can't afford the luxury of such hard feelings. The republic is at risk. The primary focus for Democrats has to be defeating Trump. Everything else pales to insignificance.

(2,061 posts)They are going to throw the kitchen sink at our candidate and what happens on DU will not change that for better or worse. The op kept it in the confines of DU and on out how they personally view it. That argument has merit. Claiming that people sniping at each other on DU will help Republicans garner an additional tactic is false. They will do that no matter what is said here.

(4,619 posts)I would walk through 1,000 miles of forest fires to vote for Biden against Trump.
I like Joe.
I like Bernie, and Elizabeth more.
All three are good people I would happily campaign for. The others too including ALL OF THEM (Bloomberg and Steyer too).
Get rid of Trump or the country / world is doomed.

(14,046 posts)Maybe not the forest fires bit.. Fire is alarming at best. Maybe we can go around the burning forests if such a trek becomes necessary?
But yea.
Trump must go. Country/World may be doomed regardless, but thats no excuse to not try and reverse course from destruction.
And every time I walk into a thread making some destructive, usually not logically founded or well reasoned argument against our candidates.. Its an unpleasant reminder of how happy the reds are to egg us on when we make poor decisions and form up the circular firing squad, and what it can cost us.

When I see people called trolls/wealthy and privileged/Republicans/centrists/neoliberals/elitists/stupid/not progressive/paid shills and so on for supporting Democrats like Biden, I'll defend them and seek revenge. If something is true, fine. But it's not true that Democrats are the same as Republicans, corrupt, ideologically bankrupt, failures, don't fight for anything, hate the working and middle classes, etc. I will snipe.

(17,305 posts)Joe Biden. That just now on Stephanie Ruhles show.
Earlier, Kornacki had a similar segment lead-in: Sanders attacks Biden.
We saw who was attacking Clinton and how she could never respond in kind to keep the peace.
SO, we know where this all started and why it continues... No sense in letting all the attacks and mistruths get amplified and repeated without correction.

(20,881 posts)But then I spent countless hours on Facebook debating with Bernie supporters who were posting obvious fake stories about Hillary on my feed.
The psychology behind this is very complex and very powerful. No one, no matter who they support ever wants to admit they've been duped.
I am seeing a repeat this cycle. Nearly all of the Russian propaganda that cost Hillary the election had its roots in the Democratic Primaries.
