I wouldn't be surprised if Bloomberg is reassessing, since the deluge of advertising hasn't helped him significantly against Biden.

1. When a candidate tries to buy an election I cross him/her off my list.

That's why I can't support Tom Steyer even though I agree with many of the positions he outlines in his commercials.

2. Neither Bloomberg or Steyer will be the nominee

but their advertising brings attention to important issues and Trump failures. With so many candidates swearing off "big money", at least the advertising still works, in a way.

3. They both have to see that this isn't happening for them.

They are just throwing away money at this point. They've also already both scooped up the voters who would be likely to consider them, the low hanging fruit. Now every voters they pick up is going to cost exponentially more that the previous one and their bases aren't big enough to get them anywhere.

4. Advertising is best done by big burst, followed by evenly spaced, then repeat.
