Here goes my right-of-center rant...


I wonder if there are any studies on reasons why that is so. At a macro level, it's because expenses outpace income.

When I was younger, I didnt find a job that generated sufficient income, while I hardly controlled expenses (e.g. ate out constatnly, beer, failed to get a roommate, bought a brand new car when a used one would have sufficed, etc.).

I'd love to know how many paycheck-to-paycheckers were like me--could fix their own problems if they just made a decision to do so.

Once I did so, it took me about a year to get to where I was saving a little and stick some on 401(k)

Just live within your means.

Skyrocketing education costs, stagnant wages, and other factors have made it much harder for people to get ahead.

This article focuses on millennials but the economic situation it describes hit others as well, just not as severely.
